Jordi Visser, a veteran of the macrofinance world, stated that the era of rapid 7-8 fold gains in the AI sector has stalled, and claimed that global capital and market dynamics will shift to Bitcoin and digital assets in the next major wave.

In a period where the growth rate of the AI rally has shifted gears due to capital expenditures (capex) and hardware bottlenecks, attention has once again turned to macroeconomic balances and the cryptocurrency market. Speaking on Anthony Pompliano’s show, Jordi Visser, a macro investor with over 30 years of experience and founder of AI Macro Nexus / AI22 Research, argued that the “easy money” era in AI is over and that it’s Bitcoin’s turn in capital rotation.

Jordi Visser pointed out that the aggressive valuations seen in AI infrastructure investments and large language models (LLMs) have reached saturation point. Stating that the high interest rate environment and physical hardware limitations such as chip and memory shortages are putting pressure on company margins, Visser made the following assessment:

Visser noted that giants like Google and Anthropic are burning significant capital trying to build infrastructure, but profitability is delayed due to physical limitations, which he said would drive investors towards alternative macro assets.

I recently finished reading this 600-page book and it has been an eye opener on many levels, especially on weather, a space I last tracked at my gig on a currencies and commodities research desk in Mumbai from 2012 to 2014. Part of my job involved tracking natural gas prices, which take cues from weather forecasts and sometimes weather derivatives, more specifically options on heating degree days (HDD) and cooling degree days (CDD).

Back then, it struck me how broken, fragmented and little known these weather options were, leaving the bulk of the world’s population exposed to the financial devastation of weather and climate risks

Solana (SOL) developers have introduced SIMD-0553, a proposal that could significantly change how transaction fees work by replacing part of the current flat fee with a resource-based model.
Under the proposal:
The current 5,000-lamport base fee would be restructured.
Validators would receive a fixed 2,500-lamport inclusion fee.
A separate resource fee—based on compute, account data, write locks, and other network resources—would be 100% burned.
Light transactions could become cheaper, while resource-intensive transactions would pay more.
According to the proposal, this approach would better reflect the actual cost each transaction places on the network. Estimates suggest daily SOL burned could increase from roughly 648 SOL today to 1,500–9,000 SOL, depending on network activity and the final parameters.
I'm watching several key factors:
Whether the community reaches consensus on SIMD-0553.
The impact on validator incentives.
How developers adapt to resource-based pricing.
Whether increased token burning strengthens SOL's long-term tokenomics.
To me, the proposal is less about raising fees and more about aligning network costs with actual resource consumption, creating a more efficient and sustainable fee market.
