Will JPX's index exclusion plans add pressure to Metaplanet stock's 86% drawdown?
Japan Exchange Group (JPX) is mulling blocking firms that park over 50% of their assets in crypto, reigniting fears for Metaplanet and other digital asset treasuries (DATs). 

According to the local publisher Nikkei, the proposed guidelines would block new crypto treasuries that fall in the said category. Additionally, those already listed on JPX’s Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX) would be axed if the proposal is adopted. 

Reportedly, JPX has sought feedback from stakeholders on the same. The move could complicate the scheduled listing of Metaplanet on TOPIX after the October 2026 reconstitution. 

In October 2025, Metaplanet was upgraded from small-cap to mid-cap, which prompted its listing on the FTSE Japan Index and the FTSE All-World Index. The upgrade offered more institutional exposure for Metaplanet (3350) stock. 

Still, the JPX’s exclusion could trigger passive outflows from indices and domestic investors that use TOPIX as a benchmark for Metaplanet.

Scarcity has always been one of the strongest market drivers for risk-on moves.

That said, it’s rarely an instant catalyst. The process takes time, tests patience, and forces the market to prove conviction. In other words, scarcity doesn’t immediately impact price action. Instead, it quietly builds a support base until real demand steps in. That’s usually when markets transition into parabolic runs.

A clear example is Bitcoin’s [BTC] 2020 cycle. The Bitcoin halving cut new BTC issuance from 12.5 to 6.25 BTC per block, tightening supply. Around the same time, Strategy [MSTR] started accumulating BTC, while global central banks flooded markets with liquidity after the COVID-19 shock. Now, market participants are speculating that Ethereum [ETH] may be setting up along a similar path.

Technically, if ETH mirrors this setup, the structure supports a potential parabolic expansion.

In 2020, Bitcoin finished the cycle up roughly 305%, breaking into a new all-time high above $20k for the first time. The halving created the initial supply shock, but the real parabolic move started once large treasury bids entered the market and aggressively absorbed available supply, accelerating price discovery.

In this context, Ethereum’s consolidation around the $2k level starts to carry greater significance. The key question now is whether a similar supply dynamic is quietly forming beneath the asset. If so, could ETH replicate a Bitcoin-style 2020 parabolic expansion once markets shift back into a risk-on environment?

Renowned Macro Strategist Lyn Alden: “Bitcoin is the Only Way Out of the Current Broken Financial System”


Renowned macrostrategist Lyn Alden, in a recent program, described the current state of the global financial system as a “slow collapse,” detailing how individuals are exploited within this system and why Bitcoin (BTC) is the only real way out of this cycle.

According to Alden, the current fiat currency system, due to its debt-based structure, must either grow or die. He argues that governments and large corporations are “shorting” the system by exploiting its loopholes, while ordinary citizens are on the losing side of this game.

“The wealthy and institutions are shorting money by borrowing at low interest rates and buying scarce assets. The poorest, unable to borrow, are bearing the brunt of inflation as their salaries and savings erode.”

In the section on Bitcoin, Alden describes the historical development of money as an evolution of a “ledger.” He lists the advantages offered by Bitcoin’s digital and decentralized structure in contrast to the physical limitations of gold and silver as follows:

Zero Supply Increase: In a world where emerging market currencies have increased by 20%, developed market currencies by 7%, and gold by 2%, Bitcoin is the only asset that will not experience further supply increases beyond a certain point.

Decentralized Trust: Alden reminds us that Bitcoin is not governed by a “council” or “policymaker,” and the rule set is distributed among all users, stating that no one can “debase” the system (empty the value from the currency) for their own benefit.

Energy-Based Security: Unlike systems where fiat currencies can be multiplied with the snap of a finger (by printing money), Bitcoin production and transfer require real-world energy (Proof of Work).

Analysis indicates that Bitcoin (BTC) demand is weakening. Five sets of data, including indicators, supply and demand indicators, and market sentiment indicators, all point to this common message.

On the 4th (Korean time), the crypto news website CoinDesk reported that several recent indicators show weakening Bitcoin demand. The website pointed out five key signs:

First, overall supply and demand indicators. Over the past 30 days, there has been a net outflow of 63,000 Bitcoins. Meanwhile, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and major institutional investors purchased approximately 94,000 Bitcoins, while retail investors, large investors, and miners purchased approximately 157,000 Bitcoins.

Second, changes in holdings by large investors. Wallet addresses holding 1,000 to 10,000 Bitcoins have recently begun to show signs of capitulation selling. Over the past 18 months, these large investors have sold 40,000 Bitcoins.

Third, the pace of purchases by medium-sized investors has slowed.  Wallets holding 100 to 1,000 Bitcoins remain net buyers, but the volatility of their purchases has decreased by more than 60% since October 2025.
