Bitcoin ETFs See $164M in Outflows as BTC Dips Below $70K
The Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund, trading as FBTC, led all redemptions with approximately $104 million in outflows.

Seven consecutive days of inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds came to an end on Wednesday, when the funds recorded a combined $163.5 million in net outflows. The data comes from Farside and marks the end of the longest inflow streak the funds had seen since October 2025.

The Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund, trading as FBTC, led all redemptions with approximately $104 million in outflows. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF, known as IBIT, followed with $34 million in net withdrawals.

Bitcoin had climbed above $75,000 earlier in the week before pulling back sharply. The drop below $71,000 on Wednesday coincided with the outflow session and with a deterioration in market sentiment tracked by widely followed indicators.

The Crypto Fear & Greed Index briefly moved up to 29, within the Fear range, on Wednesday. The shift reflected growing unease among traders after a period of relative optimism tied to the preceding inflow streak.

Prior to Wednesday's outflows, the Bitcoin ETF complex had taken in roughly $1.2 billion across the seven-day inflow run. The funds had also been approaching year-to-date net positive flow territory, sitting approximately $100 million short of that threshold before the streak ended.

Kyle Rodda, senior financial market analyst at Capital(dot)com, pointed to a set of overlapping macro pressures as the backdrop for the reversal. "The price-action screams of a market that's run out of puff and maybe poised for protracted downside," Rodda said. He cited rising inflation expectations, higher energy costs tied to conflict in the Middle East, and a broader reassessment of interest rate forecasts.
