Bitcoin eyes $85K in Q2 – Why BTC traders must watch THIS divergence
Halfway through Q2, the market is already pricing in end-of-quarter targets.

From a technical standpoint, Bitcoin’s [$BTC] 10% move so far could just be the early leg of a setup similar to 2025, where Q2 closed with 30% gains. If we get a repeat of that structure, $BTC could still be on track to finish Q2 somewhere in the $85k–$90k range. In that case, the $65k–$70k zone would likely stand out as a local bottom for this cycle.

The key question now is whether on-chain signals support that range as a potential local bottom. At the macro level, $BTC started the week by breaking below the $75k level as uncertainty around the Strait of Hormuz picks up again, adding pressure to the “bottom is in” narrative. That pressure is now starting to show up in on-chain metrics as well.

As the chart shows, $BTC hasn’t yet seen full-blown capitulation.

From a long-term holder perspective, only 28.89% are currently sitting in unrealized losses, a setup that has historically triggered panic once that figure moves into the 40-45% range, marking the start of an accumulation phase. Technically speaking, that suggests $BTC may still have room for further downside before a bottom is in. And with macro FUD still around, that structure hasn’t really been invalidated yet.

Moreover, derivatives are starting to look a bit stretched. Coinglass data shows $BTC longs outnumber shorts by about 3:2, meaning the market is still leaning bullish on leverage. Put together, macro FUD, weak technicals, and crowded longs suggest the market is still vulnerable. With LTHs still underwater in parts of the move, capitulation risk isn’t off the table yet. That keeps the $65k–$70k range under pressure.

Naturally, the question arises: Is the $85k–$90k Q2 target for Bitcoin too ambitious?

A first anniversary appearance at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) highlighted the market impact of U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Paul Atkins’ policy shift. On April 20, the SEC, Atkins, alongside supportive lawmakers and fellow regulators, cast the milestone as reflecting a year shaped by regulatory clarity, stronger U.S. capital markets, and support for innovation, including crypto.

The SEC detailed that Atkins rang the NYSE opening bell to mark his one-year anniversary as chairman. The agency emphasized a shift toward regulatory clarity and a less enforcement-driven approach to crypto and other emerging technologies, while Atkins described the period as a “historic first year” focused on returning the SEC to its core mission of investor protection, orderly markets, and capital formation.


Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chair Mike Selig stated that the SEC had “ended regulation by enforcement” and supported “innovative technologies like crypto,” while pointing to closer coordination between the CFTC and SEC. That signals clearer operating conditions for digital asset firms in the U.S., as policymakers continue emphasizing innovation, competitiveness, and regulatory alignment.

Storonsky said a stock market listing is not only about liquidity, but also about building trust and standing as a more established financial institution. That approach comes as Revolut moves beyond its early identity as a payments app and expands its role across banking, trading, lending, and digital assets. Founded in 2015 by Storonsky and Vlad Yatsenko, the company now serves about 70 million customers and operates in more than 40 markets.

IPO Timeline Moves Back as Revolut Stays Private Longer

The company’s latest stance closes the door on expectations of a near-term offering. Revolut has used secondary share sales to provide liquidity for employees and early investors while extending its private runway. Its most recent secondary transaction, completed in November, valued the business at $75 billion, up from $45 billion a year earlier.
A further secondary sale is reportedly under consideration for 2026. That gives Revolut another route to manage shareholder liquidity before any public listing. Bloomberg previously reported that the company is targeting an IPO valuation of at least $150 billion, a figure that would place it ahead of several major European banks by market value if achieved.

Revolut’s financial profile has strengthened during this private phase. The company reported about $4 billion in revenue in 2024, up 72% from a year earlier, alongside $1.4 billion in pre-tax profit, up 149%. It later posted roughly $6 billion in revenue for 2025
