His comments add to a wider debate over whether present AI pricing can support broad enterprise use. Many finance teams now track token usage closely when setting separate limits for departments and individual applications.

Meanwhile, the Relative Strength Index reached 73.74 as of writing, placing the indicator inside the overbought territory after a sharp rise from neutral conditions. Such readings typically indicate exceptionally strong buying activity, but they also warn of potential short-term exhaustion. 

Even so, the breakout remained technically significant because the price closed above the descending channel rather than rejecting from its upper boundary. If buyers defend the breakout zone, DCR could challenge $16.68. Otherwise, profit-taking could trigger a healthy pullback before another attempt higher.

Bitcoin’s $60K price floor is back in play as Hormuz oil shock returns

Bitcoin fell below $63,000 on Monday as oil rose and equity futures retreated after another round of U.S. strikes against Iran.

The strikes and Bitcoin's drop coincided, but it is not the full story. Thin weekend trading, fund flows, and crypto-specific selling were also part of the mix.

CryptoSlate market data showed Bitcoin near $62,774 early Monday, down about 1.9% over 24 hours, after a low of $62,565.

That leaves Bitcoin much closer to $60,000 than it was before the weekend, when the asset traded near $64,000 despite renewed fighting.
U.S. Central Command said the latest strikes began at 5 p.m. ET on July 12 and targeted Iran's ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Associated Press reporting confirmed a new round of attacks as Washington and Tehran disputed control of the waterway.

While XRP has suffered significant losses this year, chart data indicates that a recovery toward new highs is not completely impossible.

XRP has remained under pressure in recent weeks, slipping to around $1.10 after posting a weekly loss of just over 5%. Despite the decline, the token still trades above one of the most important support areas on the weekly chart, which keeps the larger bullish setup intact.

Notably, the latest pullback has brought XRP to a major technical level that could determine its next major move. With about six months left in 2026, the chart still leaves room for a substantial recovery if buyers continue to defend this zone.

XRP Fibonacci Levels Support the Trend
A major part of the bullish outlook comes from XRP’s position on the Fibonacci retracement chart. The price remains above the 0.382 retracement level at $1.05, a level that continues to support the broader upward structure.

Notably, the Fibonacci grid begins at the cycle low around $0.50 and extends to price targets above $11. Over the past few years, XRP has repeatedly reacted around these levels, confirming their importance. As long as the price stays above the 0.382 retracement, the long-term trend remains intact.

This support also sits within a wider demand zone that stretches from about $0.79 to $1.05. Holding above this range on the weekly chart suggests buyers still have the upper hand despite the weakness in XRP’s short-term price action.

The Current Position Resembles XRP’s Previous Breakout

The current chart shares several similarities with the setup that came before XRP’s November 2024 rally. At that time, the token spent months moving inside a descending wedge before breaking higher and gaining more than 500% in roughly a month.

XRP Now Critically Close to Descending Channel Breakout After 12 Months

XRP is now pushing against the upper boundary of a descending channel that has dictated its movement for the past 12 months. 

At press time, XRP trades at $1.0801, leaving little room between its current price and the channel’s falling resistance line. With the trading range now squeezed to nearly nothing, the chart suggests a breakout or rejection could happen soon.

This current situation resembles the pattern that appeared before XRP climbed to $3.60 in July 2025. Once again, the asset has compressed beneath a declining trendline, and this makes the coming sessions especially important.

A Year of Selling Has Shaped the Current Trend
XRP reached a high of about $3.60 in July 2025 before entering the descending channel that has guided its price ever since. From this peak, the upper trendline continued to slope lower, stopping every recovery attempt over the past year and sending the price back down after each test.

The lower trendline developed alongside it, beginning around the $2.00 area before leading XRP through the $1.50 range, then the $1.30 area, and finally toward its current level near $1.08.

The channel has remained intact from the second half of 2025 into mid-2026, contributing to a decline of more than 70% from the July 2025 peak.

Now, XRP sits almost directly below the upper trendline. Since there is barely any gap left between the price and resistance, the chart suggests that a move may not be far away.

Retail Adoption Spikes as XRP Wallets Holding 1,000 to 100,000 Tokens Hit New ATH Above 1.12M

The number of XRP wallets with balances ranging from 1,000 to 100,000 tokens has hit a new all-time high above 1.2 million.

This uptick in wallet addresses, which confirms growing adoption, comes despite the ongoing market downtrend that has triggered massive losses for XRP. Specifically, XRP has collapsed nearly 40% this year to a low of $1.10, with a close to 70% decline from the peak of $3.66.

While prices have struggled, on-chain data indicates that the market continues to see an influx of users, as adoption grows. Notably, the number of XRP wallets holding 1,000 to 100,000 tokens has now grown to a new all-time high of exactly 1,120,198.

Retail XRP Wallets Growth

This is according to data sourced by Santiment, a market intelligence platform. Of the 1.12 million figure, wallets holding 1,000 to 10,000 XRP tokens account for the larger share, amounting to 819,690. Meanwhile, there are 305,080 addresses with 10,000 to 100,000 XRP.

Despite holding fewer tokens than whale wallets, these smaller addresses are a more accurate assessment of retail adoption. As a result, their steady increase since the start of the year indicates that the XRP ecosystem has continued to attract new users despite the current price struggles.

For context, after reaching a combined peak of 1,095,830 on Feb. 6, 2026, these XRP wallets saw a drastic decline in their number, reaching 1,088,450 by Feb. 10. This marked a loss of about 7,380 retail wallets within four days.

Notably, the drop occurred on the back of the market-wide crash on Feb. 5, which resulted in a massive 19.7% intraday slump for XRP. The altcoin dropped further to a low of $1.11 the next day before staging an impressive comeback that saw it rise 21.07%.
