Bitmine Immersion Technologies has intensified its Ethereum strategy, expanding its position during a period of shifting macro and crypto market dynamics. The firm now holds 4.66 million $ETH after adding over 65,000 $ETH in the past week.

Consequently, its total crypto and cash reserves reached $11 billion, reinforcing its position as a dominant Ethereum treasury. Additionally, the company continues to increase staking activity, which now generates substantial recurring revenue.

Rapid Expansion Toward Ethereum Supply Target

According to the press release, Bitmine has already secured 3.86% of Ethereum’s circulating supply. Hence, it now moves closer to its long-term goal of controlling up to 5% of the total $ETH supply.

The firm acquired assets at a faster pace in recent weeks. Moreover, its weekly $ETH purchases rose above previous averages, signaling aggressive accumulation.

A large portion of holdings remains staked, which enhances yield generation. About 3.14 million $ETH now sits in staking contracts. Consequently, Bitmine produces approximately $184 million in annualized staking revenue. This strategy strengthens its long-term treasury model while reducing idle capital.

Institutional Backing and Strategic Positioning

Thomas “Tom” Lee leads Bitmine’s strategic vision as Chairman. He continues to position Ethereum as a resilient asset amid global uncertainty. Besides that, institutional investors provide strong backing, which enhances market confidence in the company’s strategy.

Here’s where Treasuries could shape Trump’s Iran war — and bitcoin moves


As the Iran war rages on, U.S. Treasury yields – the market's gauge of borrowing costs – have surged to multi-month highs, pricing in delayed Fed rate cuts and higher inflation expectations.

The question is at what point the Treasury market, which underpins global finance, starts causing trouble for both the government and the economy, forcing the Trump administration to rethink the war or consider a mechanism to cap yields.

According to ING, that point comes when a little-known 10-year U.S. Treasury swap spread blows past 60 basis points. We are not there yet.

"Watch the 10-year swap spread. It's just below 50bp now. If that were to shoot to 60bp, it would spell enough trouble to ultimately shape the war path. Why? It's a measure of the de-rating of Treasuries. We need to steer clear of that. It's not just the negative perception, it's the added cost of funding U.S. debt," Padhraic Garvey, CFA and regional head of research Americas at ING, said in a note to clients Friday.

Garvey emphasized that rising swap spreads aren't just about perception; they increase the implied cost of funding for the U.S. government, making it more expensive for the heavily-indebted Uncle Sam to issue new bonds and borrow more. This could ripple through the financial system, tightening credit conditions and leading to risk aversion in both stocks and bitcoin BTC$70,509.66.

"Narrow swap spreads are the good look. Wide swap spreads are the opposite," he said.

Focus on the 10-year yield

Other observers are focused on the 10-year Treasury yield, the benchmark rate that sets borrowing costs across the U.S. economy, influencing risk-taking in both the economy and financial markets.

Apex Group, the fund services giant with over $3.5 trillion in assets under administrative care, extended its tokenization range with a structured product offering institutions exposure to bitcoin BTC$71,199.87 mining, to be issued and managed on U.S. exchange Coinbase’s Ethereum overlay platform, Base.

Since buying real-world asset (RWA) specialist Tokeny last May, Apex has been steamrolling into the tokenization industry, and on Tuesday said it will tokenize the Omnes Mining Note, OMN, an institutional-grade structured note backed by bitcoin hashrate.

The OMN provides professional non-U.S. investors with direct economic exposure to new bitcoin production measured in hashrate, which is the computational power used to validate transactions and produce the largest cryptocurrency, without the operational complexities of managing mining infrastructure, hardware, energy or regulatory hurdles, according to a release.

Each OMN is backed by a fixed 1 petahash per second (1 PH/s) of Bitcoin hashrate for the duration of the 36-month tenor. Ownership is recorded in book-entry form and mirrored onchain under the ERC-3643 standard, according to the Omnes website. ERC-3643 is an Ethereum-based protocol for tokenizing RWAs developed by Tokeny.

“Tokenization gives investors mobility and utility that traditional notes cannot,” said Peter Hughes, founder and CEO of Apex Group, in the statement. “Qualified investors can transfer OMN onchain and, over time, potentially use it as a form of collateral in permissioned lending without selling the asset. This enhances liquidity while giving Omnes a more scalable and globally distributable structure.”
