The Solana [$SOL] token surged 7% in the last 24 hours, extending its weekly gains to 32%. This was after breaking the critical two-month resistance zone between $78 and $79. This resulted in the clearest structural recovery since June.

As soon as the price was above $79, $SOL climbed to $88 and went all the way to $103.50. At that point, sellers rejected that high, forcing the price to retrace toward $87 while testing whether buyers would defend the breakout.

However, buyers defended their breakout area and instead recovered at prices above $92 and below $97. Rather than retracing completely to the launchpad at $79, $SOL formed a base between $92 and $97 as sellers lost momentum.

Later on, buyers regained momentum, pushing the price above $100 and back to $101.12, bringing the $103.50 ceiling into play again.

If $SOL prints a close on a four-hour chart above $103.50, it will be clear that all supply is out of the way, continuing upward momentum and testing $115.

On the other hand, another failure at $103.50 will send attention back to the $92-$97 area. A failure below that will make $87 a focal point.

BSOL trading volume hits a record high

As $SOL approached the resistance point, the trading volume of Bitwise’s Solana Staking ETF rose higher than it has been recently. BSOL had a total trading volume of $108.65 million, which is also the largest single day that this Solana-based ETF has seen to date.

The previous high for this ETF occurred at $60-$80 million per day, with average volumes typically ranging from $15 million to $40 million.

Cryptocurrency Exchange Trading Volume Doubled in Five Days! Will the Recovery Continue? Here Are the Details
With the resurgence of trading activity in the cryptocurrency markets, trading volumes on centralized exchanges have increased significantly in a short period. Daily trading volume, which doubled in five days last week, has recovered from its annual lows and surpassed $37 billion. However, despite this increase, volume remains well below the 12-month peak of $105 billion seen after the large liquidations on October 10th.

Total trading volume in August also reflects the recovery in market activity. According to the data, approximately $490 billion worth of transactions took place on centralized exchanges in the first part of the month. In July, this figure was $670 billion.

Analysts point out that in the current cycle, spot CEX volumes are having to compete with spot crypto ETFs, unlike in previous periods. While in the past, a large portion of investor demand was met directly through centralized exchanges, with the proliferation of ETF products, some of the capital for major assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum is shifting towards traditional financial channels.

It is noted that the proliferation of crypto ETFs and digital asset treasury companies (DATs) could put long-term pressure on centralized exchange volumes. Conversely, demand in the altcoin market is expected to remain largely on CEX platforms. Fast listing, a wide range of trading pairs, and advanced trading tools for small market cap tokens are among the advantages that ETF and DAT structures cannot easily offer.

The strong rally in the market also supported trading volumes. Bitcoin gained over 23% last week, while Ethereum rose over 30%. The altcoin market, which represents the total cryptocurrency market capitalization excluding BTC and ETH, also increased by approximately 13% during the same period.

Canary Capital CEO Steven McClurg has made a strong case for the role of XRP Ledger (XRPL) in the future of institutional finance.

He argued that the XRP Ledger’s centralized characteristics are an advantage, not a weakness. Speaking during a recent interview on the Paul Barron Network podcast, McClurg said he believes XRP will ultimately emerge as the leading protocol for financial rails used by institutions.

“XRP will be the winner for financial rails,” McClurg said during the discussion. His comments come as the XRP Ledger expands beyond payments. Ripple, Clearpool, and Cicada Partners are working to build an institutional lending and credit market on the network.

Franklin Templeton and Hashkey roll out U.S. tokenized money fund in AsiaHong Kong regulated crypto exchange Hashkey has teamed up with financial giant Franklin Templeton to distribute its flagship tokenized money market fund, Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Liquidity Fund (grBENJI), to digital asset investors in Asia.

The move reflects growing institutional demand for yield-generating instruments backed by real-world assets on regulated digital platforms. Tokenized U.S. Treasury and money market funds have grown 1,500% to $15 billion in the last two years, according to data source rwa.xyz

GrBENJI is designed to provide professional investors with access to a tokenized fund investing mainly in U.S. government money market products and U.S. dollar cash assets on the blockchain, Hashkey said in a statement released on Monday.

Franklin Templeton manages $1.8 trillion in assets globally across more than 35 countries. The fund uses blockchain infrastructure to provide investors with exposure to traditional money market instruments through a tokenized wrapper, or a blockchain-based token that represents a claim on the underlying asset.
