Bitcoin’s Next Rally Could Send Ethereum Toward $20K: AnalystEthereum ($ETH) could reach $20,000 in the next few years, according to Credible Crypto.

The premise for his thesis lies in $ETH’s trading range of five years, weak relative performance vis-à-vis Bitcoin ($BTC), as well as a potential rotation into higher-risk assets.

Analyst Sees $ETH Breaking 5-Year Range
As explained by the analyst in Sunday’s episode of the No Bs Crypto podcast, $ETH has been trading in a range of around $1,500 to $5,000 for about five years now, the token having touched both ends several times in the process, forming what he considers a large higher timeframe range.

Additionally, while Bitcoin is trading above the 2021 high, Ethereum is lagging behind, and according to Credible Crypto, the $ETH/$BTC ratio has reached such levels that it can allow $ETH to catch up with $BTC.

His basic target is $10,000. He argued that doubling Ethereum’s previous range high near $5,000 would produce that level, while a larger range expansion could push $ETH toward $8,000 and $9,000 even before we consider other factors.

The $20,000 target will rely heavily on Bitcoin’s price. If the $BTC price stands at about $80,000, where it is currently close to, with $ETH/$BTC recovering back to its earlier high of 0.156, then Credible says Ethereum will hit above $12,000.The crypto trader also pointed to $ETH’s higher risk compared to Bitcoin, with that, in his view, creating room for the former to deliver a larger return during a bull cycle. But his technical case rests on Ethereum defending a higher-timeframe low near $1,388.

The leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, has experienced a significant surge in recent days, climbing above $79,000. While the source of this rise and whether it will continue are a subject of speculation, an analytics firm has suggested that BTC may have entered a consolidation phase.

According to Hong Kong-based Bitfire Research, Bitcoin has entered a period of high-level consolidation after rising above its current levels.

The report analyzed how geopolitical risks, US long-term bond yields, and developments in cryptocurrency regulation had a combined effect on the recent Bitcoin surge.

Bitfire Research analysts stated that uncertainty around the Strait of Hormuz has heightened concerns about energy prices and inflation, and that a brief rise in the US 30-year Treasury yield to approximately 5.337% has put pressure on the market.

In terms of regulation, the SEC’s proposed regulations regarding crypto assets, the implementation of relevant CFTC policies, and the future processes of the Clarity Act were cited as key variables. Analysts predicted that addressing regulatory uncertainty could increase investor confidence among institutional investors and in the tokenized financial products market.

Analysts concluded that the most important variable is capital flows, identifying it as a key factor determining future direction.

At this point, analysts noted that approximately $1.92 billion in capital had flowed into US spot Bitcoin ETFs, and that large-scale short liquidations were also supporting the rise.

According to the analysis firm, whether capital flows continue will determine whether Bitcoin’s recovery turns into a lasting medium-term uptrend.

Analysts pointed to $80,000 as a key resistance level ahead, arguing that Bitcoin is in a "late stage of the bear market."

Bitcoin traded around $77,800 on Monday, up 22% over the past seven days, according to CoinGecko data, with analysts looking to this week's Jackson Hole meeting as its next test.

This year's symposium runs from Thursday to Saturday under the theme "Financial Innovation: Implications for Payments and Policy," though what markets care about is Friday morning, when Kevin Warsh delivers his first keynote as Fed chair.

Warsh took office in May, succeeding Jerome Powell, and has made changing how the Fed communicates a priority, dedicating one of five internal task forces to the question. Friday will be the market's first read of how he handles the format, ahead of the Fed's September 16 rate decision. Asked about it after July's Fed meeting, at which the committee held rates at 3.50% to 3.75% on a 9-3 vote with three regional presidents dissenting in favor of a hike, Warsh said his keynote was "a blank piece of paper right now."

CME's FedWatch tool puts the chance of a hike at 38.4%, against 61.6% for no change and nothing priced for a cut. A month ago those figures were close to inverted, with a hike at 82%. Traders on prediction market Myriad, owned by Decrypt's parent company Dastan, are marginally more dovish, pricing a 25 basis point increase at 32% against 71% for no change.

The rally that got Bitcoin here had several catalysts at once. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced a doubling of long-dated bond buybacks, dragging yields lower and weakening the dollar; President Donald Trump met crypto executives and pressed Congress on the Clarity Act; and spot

The stunt was done to promote a memecoin they’d created called Green Dildo. They also created NFTs, and even opened up prediction markets on Polymarket so people could bet on the next time someone would sexually harass WNBA players.

At the time, the group proclaimed that it was “bringing positive attention to the sport,” and that its members were supporters of the WNBA.

These were obviously lies, and the attention the group garnered — and the speed at which it dried up — made that clear.

Indeed, over 80% of the coin is still controlled by seven wallets, over half of the 1,000 NFTs the group offered to mint haven’t been touched, and its merch page is offline.

But now, the group is harassing WNBA players again, this time in support of an imaginary witch hunt concocted by anti-trans protestors.

According to Whale Insider, $XRP is enabled for FedNow Payments via Volante’s Ripple integration. Volante’s Ripple integration unlocked $XRP for instant FedNow payments.

Volante Technologies is a payment infrastructure provider that plays the role of a universal adapter for financial institutions.

In simple terms, Volante serves as middleware for major U.S. banks. Thus, banks can use various networks such as FedNow, RTP, Fedwire, SWIFT, and now Ripple. With the connection, banks can now settle through $XRP on the same rails the Fed uses for 24/7 real-time transfers.

However, it’s important to note that there’s no official Federal Reserve confirmation that positions $XRP as one of the service providers for FedNow.

Although FedNow and $XRP both sit on Volante options for payment, it doesn’t mean they’re connected to each other directly.
