While some analysts argue that quantum technology is crucial for Bitcoin ($BTC) and that urgent action is needed, others believe the issue is being exaggerated.

As the risks of quantum technology continue to be debated, the founder of Litecoin (LTC) has made statements regarding quantum risk.

Accordingly, Litecoin founder Charlie Lee claimed in a recent interview that anonymous creator Satoshi’s $BTC would be the first target of quantum attacks.

Lee stated that while Satoshi’s identity remains unknown, the more than one million $BTC he is believed to hold are most vulnerable to such attacks because they are not properly protected.

Lee added that if quantum computing becomes a reality, Satoshi’s Bitcoins would likely be among the first to be hacked.

Lee stated that Satoshi is estimated to own approximately 1.1 million $BTC, and that these $BTC are stored in P2PK addresses, which could make them more vulnerable to quantum attacks.

However, Lee added that current quantum computing technology is still significantly insufficient to break Bitcoin’s encryption.

Quantum computing company PsiQuantum has taken quantum concerns to another level with its latest move.

PsiQuantum has taken another step closer to its goal of building the world’s first usable quantum computer. The company announced that it has begun construction of a 1 million qubit quantum facility that scientists say is powerful enough to crack Bitcoin’s encryption.

Tesla secures SpaceX stake through xAI merger ahead of IPO

Tesla has received regulatory clearance to convert its investment in Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence firm xAI into a small stake in SpaceX, formalizing financial ties between the billionaire’s companies ahead of the rocket maker’s planned initial public offering, according to a Bloomberg report.

Filings with the US Federal Trade Commission list Tesla as the acquirer of a SpaceX stake from Musk. The documents, dated March 11, also show Musk selling additional holdings to investors, including Valor Equity Partners and DFJ Growth.

The filings relate to Tesla’s previously disclosed $2 billion investment in xAI, which was recently rolled into SpaceX following the merger of the AI firm with the rocket company. The conversion would leave Tesla with a stake of less than 1% in SpaceX.

Musk previously acquired Twitter in 2022 and later merged the platform, now called X, with xAI in a $33 billion deal. That move paved the way for the SpaceX tie-up, creating a combined entity valued at about $1.75 trillion when the transaction was announced earlier this year.

The Solana ecosystem experienced a serious security scare this week after BONK.fun, a popular platform within the Bonk community, had its domain hijacked. Attackers reportedly gained control of the site’s DNS settings and injected malicious code that caused wallet-draining prompts to appear for visitors.
According to early reports, the attackers deployed a sophisticated phishing overlay designed to look like legitimate transaction requests. The prompts attempted to trick users into approving actions such as “set authority” or “transfer” permissions—moves that could give attackers control over their wallets.
Fortunately, the damage appears to have been limited. The attacker managed to extract roughly $23,000 before community members and security watchers began warning users across social media and crypto channels. Even so, the incident highlights a persistent weakness in Web3: centralized domain infrastructure can still become a single point of failure.
What This Means for Solana Security
In the aftermath of the breach, security experts expect the Solana ecosystem to push harder toward decentralized front-ends and stronger browser-level protections.
Wallet providers like Phantom Wallet and Solflare Wallet are already expected to accelerate improvements to transaction-simulation features. Upcoming updates—sometimes referred to as “Transaction Simulation 2.0”—aim to clearly flag suspicious permission requests and label them as high-risk before users approve them.
Meanwhile, as BONK.fun works to regain control of its infrastructure, the broader DeFi sector is likely to increase its investment in DNS monitoring and domain-security tools. Some experts believe this incident could mark the end of the Web3 industry’s long-standing “trust-by-default” approach to domains.

MoonPay introduces Ledger-secured AI crypto agents to address wallet key risks


Crypto payments firm MoonPay added Ledger hardware wallet signing to its command-line interface (CLI) wallet for MoonPay Agents, a move the company says addresses a security challenge introduced by autonomous crypto trading tools.

The new feature allows users to verify and sign every transaction generated by an AI agent using a Ledger hardware device, ensuring private keys never leave the hardware signer. MoonPay said the integration makes the CLI wallet the first agent-focused wallet to support Ledger’s secure signing through the company’s Device Management Kit.

Autonomous crypto agents are a growing category of tools designed to execute trading strategies, rebalance portfolios and move assets across chains without constant human input. But security concerns have slowed adoption, because many implementations require users to hand over direct access to wallet keys.

“Autonomous agents will manage trillions in digital assets,” said Ivan Soto-Wright, CEO and founder of MoonPay. “But autonomy without security is reckless. We built MoonPay Agents with Ledger so intelligence can scale without surrendering control. The agent executes. The human stays in the loop.”

Ledger’s chief experience officer, Ian Rogers, said the integration reflects the growing number of developer-focused wallets and AI-driven tools entering crypto.

“There is a new wave of CLI and agent-centric wallets emerging, and these will need Ledger security as a feature, too,” Rogers said.

This attack is not a smart contract exploit, but rather a front-end takeover. According to community reports, hackers compromised a team account and used it to push a malicious drainer onto the website domain.
Visitors are currently shown a fake Terms of Service pop-up that looks like a normal compliance request. However, signing the message triggers the wallet drainer, allowing attackers to steal funds.

Litecoin (LTC) founder Charlie Lee warns that Satoshi Nakamoto’s estimated 1.1 million Bitcoins ($BTC) are vulnerable to quantum-computing attacks.

The warning raises an uncomfortable governance dilemma for Bitcoin’s decentralized community. If Satoshi is no longer alive or accessible, no one can migrate those coins to safety, and freezing them would mean compromising Bitcoin’s foundational principles.

Why Satoshi’s Bitcoins Are “Less Safe”

In an interview with BeInCrypto, Lee explained that while quantum computing could, in theory, crack current encryption methods, the technology hasn’t yet reached that level in practice. Still, he emphasized that the threat extends far beyond cryptocurrency, potentially undermining the security infrastructure of global finance, communications, and more.

For crypto specifically, the stakes are high. If quantum computers were to break wallet encryption, anyone could access and spend someone else’s funds, effectively destroying the foundation of the entire crypto ecosystem. However, not all wallets face the same risk.

“The million Bitcoins that Satoshi has. Nobody knows who Satoshi is….Those coins are not well protected. They’re actually less safe than current coins in terms of quantum attacks,” Lee told BeInCrypto. “If quantum does happen, those will be the first coins that will be kind of broken into.”

The vulnerability stems from the transaction format. In the earliest days of Bitcoin (2009–2010), most transactions used Pay-to-Public-Key (P2PK) scripts rather than the later Pay-to-Public-Key-Hash (P2PKH) format.

P2PK: The transaction output directly contains the public key.

P2PKH: The output contains a hash of the public key, which hides the actual key until the coins are spent.
