$NEXO, the native ERC-20 token of Nexo platform , shows a short uptick of 0.23% during Thursday’s U.S. market hours to trade at $0.09. The surge aligns with broader market recovery as recent talks on U.S. and Iran potential extended the ceasefire agreement has renewed risk-on sentiment among investors. However, the Nexo price gained additional momentum as on-chain data shows a notable surge in $NEXO-related taker buy volume, reinforcing the asset’s potential for extended recovery.

$NEXO Sees Buyer Surge as Taker Buys Flip Bullish

Nexo’s exchange trading activity has flipped in recent days, with on-chain records from CryptoQuant showing a clear pickup in aggressive buyer orders after months dominated by sellers. The green bars on the metrics illustrating the taker buys are a sign of rising demand to the platform attributable to a combination of large holders, institutions, and ordinary traders.

Taker buys represent market orders that strike the sell side instantly, meaning that buyers are not procrastinating to take up positions at current prices. This turn is a break in the previous trend of heavy taker sales, which heralds new urgency among the participants hoarding the token.

Nexo has constructed its user base on a fundamental proposal; instant lines of borrowing on the basis of crypto collateral. Account holders are able to store US dollars, euros, or stablecoins, but they still maintain full ownership of their digital assets. Ethereum Foundation-funded program exposes 100 DPRK workers in crypto

The Ethereum Foundation said it funded a six-month project that exposed 100 North Korean operatives who had infiltrated Web3 companies under fake identities.

The foundation on Thursday shared a recap of its ETH Rangers program, which was launched in late 2024 to provide "stipends for individuals doing public goods security work" within the ecosystem.

One of the recipients used the capital to build the Ketman Project to focus on investigating “fake developers” embedded within crypto, particularly operatives from the People's Republic of Korea.

During the six-month stipend period, the Ketman Project identified "100 different DPRK IT workers operating within Web3 organizations" and reached out to about 53 projects to alert them about having potentially employed active DPRK operatives.

"This work directly addresses one of the most pressing operational security threats facing the Ethereum ecosystem today," the Ethereum Foundation said.

North Korean operatives have been plaguing the crypto sector, leading to billions worth of crypto stolen over the years. One of the highest-profile hacking groups from North Korea is known as the Lazarus Group.

The Ethereum Foundation did not go into detail about how the Ketman Project was able to identify the DPRK operatives. However, the project's website has an extensive range of articles explaining the types of "tactics, behaviors and operational patterns" the operatives deploy.

Geopolitical and Economic Drivers
Bitcoin breached the $75,000 mark several times in the last 24 hours as the cryptocurrency continued to hold on to gains initially made on April 13. As shown on the daily chart, bitcoin twice surpassed the mark on Wednesday evening, but its momentum stalled each time amid a wave of selling pressure.
However, a few hours before midnight, the top cryptocurrency breached the mark again before retreating slightly to consolidate near the threshold. By 5 a.m. EST, a fresh volatile session commenced as the price plunged to $74,300, only for the cryptocurrency to rally back to $75,000. The same price action repeated between 9:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., but this time, bitcoin plummeted to an intraday low of $73,309 before a quick surge saw it nearly tap the $75,000 resistance again.
