The ceasefire came after weeks of conflict that began when Israel invaded Lebanon following Hezbollah's military support of Iran. The fighting has claimed thousands of lives and effectively shut down one of the world's most vital energy corridors since late February.President Donald Trump praised the development, calling it a remarkable moment for global peace. Yet contradictions quickly emerged. Trump confirmed the U.S. naval blockade would remain in place until a comprehensive deal with Iran is finalized, while Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf warned that the strait would not stay open under those conditions. Iran also mandated that all vessels coordinate with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps before passage, a new requirement that raised concerns among international shipping companies.Despite initial optimism, vessel tracking data showed roughly 20 ships attempting to cross the strait on Friday evening, with most ultimately turning back for reasons that remained unclear.Global financial markets responded positively, with oil prices dropping approximately 10% and stock markets climbing on hopes of restored energy flows. Still, unresolved disputes over Iran's nuclear program continue to cloud negotiations. The U.S. demanded a 20-year suspension of all Iranian nuclear activity, while Iran proposed a much shorter three-to-five year pause.

Wrapped $XRP went live on Solana on Friday, issued by custodian Hex Trust and bridged through LayerZero, making the token available inside Solana's DeFi apps for the first time.

$XRP holders can now use the wrapped asset on Jupiter, Phantom, Titan Exchange, and Meteora without selling their underlying position.

Each wXRP is backed 1:1 by native $XRP held in segregated custody accounts and is redeemable at any time, according to Hex Trust.

The Solana launch is one leg of a broader rollout Hex Trust disclosed in December 2025, which also targets Ethereum, Optimism, and HyperEVM. The move fits a pattern that has accelerated through 2025 and 2026, where tokens that started their life on one chain are being bridged to others to capture yield and liquidity that did not exist at launch.

$XRP has historically functioned as a payment-rail token settled directly on the $XRP Ledger. Solana has built the opposite use case, a throughput-optimized smart contract platform where the DeFi and memecoin activity actually lives.

According to the analysis, Bitcoin’s push to new highs hasn’t generated as much enthusiasm in the market as expected. On the contrary, many traders are skeptical about the sustainability of this rise. Santiment notes that this skeptical atmosphere in the market could actually create a healthy foundation for the continuation of the rally.

The question of “Has the bottom been reached?” remains a major topic of discussion among market participants. Santiment experts state that conversations on social media platforms and on-chain data indicate that investors are still expecting a major correction. Historically, periods of skepticism often coincide with phases of sustained price increases.

On April 17, Bittensor ($TAO) price witnessed an upward momentum with a surge of 7% on a daily chart following a rally in the Bitcoin ($BTC) price, but failed to hold its position and faced a quick correction on the daily chart.

On Friday, the overall crypto market sparked a bullish sentiment in the market, which helped most altcoins to gain a spike. The main reason behind the rally in the crypto market is the major development in peace talks between the U.S. and Iran. Apart from this, recently, artificial intelligence-related tokens have also attracted the attention of investors due to their real utility.

At the time of writing, Bittensor ($TAO) is trading at around $252.30 with a market capitalization of around $2.82 billion, according to CoinMarketCap. The daily trading volume also jumped by 37% in the last 24 hours and is currently revolving around $396.22 million.

Cardano is already being used by roughly 200 large companies in Germany through agentic AI deployments, even if those firms do not realize the blockchain is sitting underneath their stack, according to Cardano Foundation CEO Frederik Gregaard. The claim, made during an interview with Jane King on GBBC’s Markets on Chain series from the New York Stock Exchange published April 16, points to a version of blockchain adoption that is less visible to end users but potentially more embedded in enterprise infrastructure.

200 German Companies Use Cardano Without Even Knowing It

Gregaard framed the Cardano Foundation’s role as pushing blockchain into systems people use without necessarily recognizing it. “We have about 200 companies in Germany who live on agentic AI, fairly large companies, and they don’t even know they’re using Cardano as a security layer, as a digital identity layer and as an accountability layer,” he said. “Part of when you have, for instance, agentic AI who’s using data from two different databases, [is] ensuring that the agentic AI is who they say they are, that they have the data they claim without disclosing it, because we want privacy.”

That argument was central to Gregaard’s broader pitch: blockchain, in his view, is becoming an underlying trust and coordination layer for AI-driven systems rather than simply a rails story for tokens or payments. He described a model where users could interact with seamless consumer applications while Cardano handles provenance, identity and compliance in the background. The point was less about visible crypto branding than about infrastructure-level deployment.
