Why is crypto up today? Bitcoin pushes towards $76K despite fakeout risk


Crypto today is sitting at a key level where the next move could be driven by FOMO.

On the technical side, high-cap assets are seeing steady inflows, which is keeping prices stable near key resistance zones.

With the weekend ahead and the stock market closed, crypto could see more inflows. The next 48 hours will be important in deciding whether the market builds a local bottom at these levels.

On the sentiment side, things are turning more bullish. The Crypto Fear and Greed Index has moved up two points and is now just two points away from entering the “greed” zone, which often signals stronger risk appetite.

Technically, Bitcoin’s [$BTC] push toward $76k shows this momentum may already be playing out.

Interestingly, crypto today also saw a liquidity flush, adding to the current setup.

According to CoinGlass, total liquidations came in at $539 million, with over 55% coming from shorts. Bitcoin alone saw $56 million in short liquidations as it broke $75.7k, marking one of the largest short squeezes in over a month.

However, the key question is whether crypto can carry this momentum into next week.

From a technical standpoint, short squeezes are bullish; however, for the move to sustain, strong underlying bid support is necessary. Otherwise, this could simply turn into another deleveraging event.

AMBCrypto believes that this is where FOMO begins to play a key role.

On the sentiment side, conditions are clearly supportive, but the real test is whether it’s translating into actual on-chain demand.

If so, crypto’s momentum today could extend into next week, with $80k as the near-term target. On the other hand, if demand weakens, the move could quickly lose strength.

Wrapped XRP goes live on Solana, broadening DeFi access for Ripple-linked token


Wrapped $XRP went live on Solana on Friday, issued by custodian Hex Trust and bridged through LayerZero, making the token available inside Solana's DeFi apps for the first time.

$XRP holders can now use the wrapped asset on Jupiter, Phantom, Titan Exchange, and Meteora without selling their underlying position.

Each wXRP is backed 1:1 by native $XRP held in segregated custody accounts and is redeemable at any time, according to Hex Trust.

The Solana launch is one leg of a broader rollout Hex Trust disclosed in December 2025, which also targets Ethereum, Optimism, and HyperEVM. The move fits a pattern that has accelerated through 2025 and 2026, where tokens that started their life on one chain are being bridged to others to capture yield and liquidity that did not exist at launch.

$XRP has historically functioned as a payment-rail token settled directly on the $XRP Ledger. Solana has built the opposite use case, a throughput-optimized smart contract platform where the DeFi and memecoin activity actually lives.

#A U.S. trade tribunal sided with Apple on Friday, rejecting Masimo Corporation's push to reinstate an import ban on Apple Watch. The U.S. International Trade Commission chose not to review an earlier judge's ruling that Apple's redesigned smartwatches no longer violate Masimo's patents covering blood-oxygen monitoring technology, effectively closing the case at the commission level.Masimo, now owned by Danaher, retains the option to appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington. The company declined to issue a public statement following the decision. Apple, however, was vocal in its response. "We thank the ITC for its decision, which ensures we can continue to offer this important health feature to our users," the company said, adding that Masimo had spent over six years pursuing legal action, with nearly all of its claims ultimately failing.The legal battle between the two companies stretches back years, rooted in Masimo's allegations that Apple poached key engineers to gain access to proprietary pulse-oximetry technology used for measuring blood oxygen levels.
