Crypto’s next major inflection point is coming from artificial intelligence (AI).

That's according to Consensys CEO and Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin. He told CoinDesk that autonomous or semi-autonomous agents can transact, coordinate and verify one another on decentralized networks, using crypto rails as a foundation for machine-driven activity.

Lubin, who will be speaking at Consensus Miami 2026 next month, said he is “sympathetic to the idea that blockchain is for machine intelligences,” but does not see humans being displaced. Instead, increasingly intelligent interfaces will abstract away complexity, allowing users to interact with crypto systems through intent rather than manual inputs. In that model, AI becomes the intermediary layer between people and protocols.

That vision comes with risks. If AI infrastructure remains concentrated among large technology firms, “we could be in trouble,” Lubin warned. He argued that decentralized systems and cryptography will be essential in ensuring accountability, enabling machines to “check on one another” in transparent, verifiable environments.

Within that broader shift, products like MetaMask — a Consensys product — are evolving to reflect the change. Lubin said the wallet is being rebuilt as “a new kind of neobank that you own and control,” part of a transition toward what he described as a “personal money operating system.” AI-powered agents could act on behalf of users, managing assets, executing transactions and navigating a growing decentralized economy. “You can walk around with your personal financial system in your pocket,” he said.

Crypto culture treated these as design virtues, properties that builders embedded with ethical weight by deliberate architectural choice. Then the Drift exploit happened, and the backlash told a different story.

On Apr. 1, Drift suffered a major exploit. Circle later described the publicly reported losses as exceeding $270 million, while other reports put the figure around $285 million and documented criticism that Circle had not frozen stolen USDC as it moved across its cross-chain rails.

The attacker routed roughly $232 million in USDC from Solana to Ethereum using Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol. The backlash stemmed from users and observers wanting to know why Circle had not intervened sooner.

Days later, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino posted that Tether had frozen 3.29 million USDT tied to the Rhea Finance attacker, framing the intervention as proof that “Tether cares.”

This sparked investor concerns and helped lead to the further 10% NFLX skid. Co-CEO Greg Peters tried to settle those fears on Netflix’s earnings call, saying, “Of course, it’s early in the year. There’s still plenty of time to go, plenty of work left to go do.” “We’ve seen really good progress so far in this first quarter that builds on the solid momentum and results from 2025,” Peters added. Furthermore, executives told Wall Street on its earnings call that there are no changes to its capital allocation program, despite their positivity around new podcasts, vertical videos, and live events. About $6.8 billion remains for repurchase under Netflix’s authorization.As for Q1 2026, Netflix reported revenue of $12.25 billion, compared with the Street’s $12.17 billion estimate, per Bloomberg consensus data. In the first quarter of last year, the company reported revenue of $10.54 billion. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $1.23, compared to estimates of $0.76. TRX Price Analysis: Breakout Holds as TRX Forms Higher Lows

TRX price structure has shifted from a downtrend into a recovery phase. After forming a double bottom near $0.27–$0.28, the price established a strong demand base, preventing further downside. The key structural shift came with a breakout above the descending trendline, signaling weakening selling pressure.

Since the breakout, TRX has not shown aggressive upside but instead continues to form higher lows above $0.30–$0.31, reflecting controlled accumulation. This type of movement indicates sustained buying rather than speculative spikes. Short-term EMAs are gradually trending upward, supporting the current structure.
