This network upgrade is crucial, aiming to further optimize smart contract development on the protocol and improve the effectiveness and speed of the platform’s core infrastructure.

Powered by its native XLM token, the Stellar network is a decentralized, public blockchain built to connect global financial systems and enable rapid, secure, and cost-effective cross-border transactions. Its move to activate Protocol 28, also known as the Adapter upgrade, aims to make the crypto network more effective for users. The initiative marks a critical juncture for the Stellar network as the countdown ticks down, with the upgrade’s mainnet activation set to occur on August 27.

On this day, the Protocol 28 upgrade will deploy improvements on Stellar’s Soroban smart contracts and network functionality. With incoming activation, the update aims to introduce innovative tools to drive efficient smart contract coordination (and execution) and facilitate efficient data migrations on Stellar, making on-chain application maintenance seamless for developers.
