U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded a net inflow of $26.9 million on July 7, marking the fourth consecutive trading day of positive flows, according to data from investment research firm Farside Investors.

The inflows were driven entirely by BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA), which reported $26.9 million in net new investments for the day. No other spot Ethereum ETF reported inflows or outflows on the same date.

A federal judge in New York has ruled against prediction market platform Kalshi, denying its request to block the state from enforcing its gambling laws on the company’s sports betting offerings. The decision marks a significant moment in the ongoing legal battle over how prediction markets should be regulated in the United States.

Court Ruling Details

Judge Analisa Torres of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York found that New York’s application of its gambling laws to sports betting does not conflict with the federal Commodity Exchange Act (CEA). As a result, Kalshi’s request for a preliminary injunction was denied, and the case will now move to the motion to dismiss stage.

Torres is the same judge who presided over the high-profile lawsuit between Ripple Labs and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), a case that has drawn significant attention from the cryptocurrency industry.

Broader Regulatory Debate

The ruling comes amid a wider national debate over whether prediction markets should fall under state or federal oversight. Kalshi, which operates as a federally regulated exchange under the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has argued that its offerings should be governed exclusively by federal law. New York regulators, however, contend that sports betting falls within traditional state gambling jurisdiction.

This tension between state and federal authority is not unique to Kalshi. Several other prediction market platforms have faced similar challenges as they expand into event-based contracts tied to sports, elections, and other outcomes.

Navitas stock is falling 9% today: what’s spooking investors?

Navitas Semiconductor stock NASDAQ:NVTS fell sharply in pre-market trading on Wednesday after Wolfspeed accused the company of infringing patents across several core power-chip product lines.

The development adds a legal overhang to one of the market’s more volatile AI-linked semiconductor trades.

NVTS was trading around $13.99, down about 8.2%, while some live feeds showed a steeper intraday fall of more than 9%.

The selloff is sharp because Navitas is no longer viewed as just a small power-chip company and investors are pricing it as a potential winner from AI data-centre power upgrades.

Wolfspeed lawsuit hits Navitas’ core growth story

The immediate trigger is legal, as Wolfspeed said it filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Navitas in the US District Court for the District of Delaware on Tuesday.

The wide-bandgap semiconductors manufacturer said that it was taking action to protect its gallium nitride and silicon carbide intellectual property.

The complaint targets a broad range of Navitas products.

Wolfspeed said the allegedly infringing products include Navitas’s GaN-based FETs from the GaNFast, GaNSlim and GaNSafe families, as well as its GeneSiC MOSFETs and SiCPAK modules.
