KG Inicis Partners With Solana to Explore Stablecoin Payment Infrastructure in South KoreaSouth Korean payment processor KG Inicis is exploring whether stablecoins can become a practical payment method for everyday online commerce through a new partnership with the Solana Foundation, signaling growing interest among traditional financial companies in blockchain-based payment infrastructure.

KG Inicis has entered into a partnership with the Solana Foundation to evaluate digital asset payment infrastructure, including stablecoin-based checkout, merchant settlement systems, and blockchain-powered loyalty programs. The initiative will be developed alongside affiliate KG Financial, which has been conducting proof-of-concept work focused on stablecoin issuance and payment services using Solana's blockchain network.

The agreement represents one of the most significant attempts by a major South Korean payment company to evaluate how stablecoins could function within an established merchant network rather than a crypto-native ecosystem.

Zcash mining company Fortitude Mining Holdings is preparing to enter the public markets through a merger with Nasdaq-listed medical technology firm HeartSciences, marking another example of a cryptocurrency company choosing a reverse merger instead of a traditional initial public offering (IPO).

Under the all-stock transaction, Fortitude's management team will take control of the combined company, which is expected to operate under the Fortitude name and trade on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol "TUDE," pending regulatory approval. Existing HeartSciences shareholders will retain a minority ownership stake in the new entity.

The deal combines two very different industries. Fortitude focuses on cryptocurrency mining and is one of the largest producers of Zcash (ZEC), while HeartSciences develops AI-powered cardiac diagnostic technology. Despite the difference in business models, the merger provides Fortitude with a faster route to public markets while allowing HeartSciences to continue operating its healthcare business.

HeartSciences CEO Andrew Simpson stated that the transaction offers a strategic path forward by reducing the company's dependence on continuous fundraising while preserving shareholder value. The healthcare division is expected to continue developing its cardiac diagnostic products and software platforms following the merger.

Investors reacted positively to the announcement. Shares of HeartSciences surged as much as 91% following the news, reflecting strong market interest in the transaction and growing enthusiasm surrounding publicly traded crypto-related businesses.
