ETF flows are dictating current price action once again, with three consecutive red days, and yesterday alone saw $68M BTC sold.

Liquidations have also picked up, with over $575M over the past 24-hours and $458M of that figure coming from long positions. Liquidations, mostly from longs, signal that the market is back in a downtrend, but bulls have yet to accept that truth.Chainlink (LINK) and Monero (XMR) are two of the only major caps in the green today, each up around +2.5%, highlighting strength while the broader market bleeds. Trading volume has dropped off considerably, sitting at $68Bn over the past 24-hours, down from over $110Bn just two days ago.

With Bitcoin and the broader market continuing to bleed, the Fear & Greed Index remains at 23/100, maintaining the 20-25 range over the last seven days and indicating a lack of clear direction across crypto.

Senator Cynthia Lummis is pressing her case for the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, arguing that the legislation draws a clear legal line that writing code does not constitute money transmission. The Wyoming Republican, who chairs the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Digital Assets, has made developer protection a central pillar of her push to move the bill to a full Senate vote.

What the Bill Does for Developers

At the core of Lummis's argument is Section 604 of the CLARITY Act, drawn from the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act. The provision codifies a principle from FinCEN's 2019 guidance: that developers and infrastructure providers who do not custody or control user funds are not money transmitters subject to Bank Secrecy Act registration or criminal prosecution.

More broadly, Bitcoin [BTC] has traded below the $70,000 mark for roughly 21 days as bearish pressure persisted.

Fresh whale activity over the past day revived interest in whether large buyers could push the asset higher, so AMBCrypto examined how whale flows have shaped Bitcoin’s price action in recent weeks.

Whales step in with major buys
Whales matter to any asset because of the capital they deploy and because they tend to hold for the longer term, unlike retail traders, who typically offload more quickly.Over the past 24 hours, whale entries into Bitcoin drew attention once again. One whale bought 500 Bitcoin—worth roughly $32.31 million—from custodian BitGo and moved the coins to a private wallet, signalling a higher likelihood that the investor intends to hold for the long termOn top of that, a traditional digital asset manager added to the buying, scooping 166.24 Bitcoin worth $10.74 million at the time and lifting its wallet balance to 4,515 BTC, worth $288.4 million.

Purchases of this size usually move the market, yet the opposite has played out—Bitcoin [BTC] slipped below $63,000 as selling pressure intensified across the board.

As these outflows continued, the accumulation signals began to grow stronger. On the flip side, Ethereum [ETH], Chainlink [LINK], Uniswap [UNI], and 1Inch [1INCH] were exhibiting higher deposit activity vs. withdrawals.

Therefore, capital appears to be rotating toward selected altcoins rather than supporting the market uniformly. If broader conditions improve, assets already showing sustained outflows could be better positioned to attract speculative demand

Ethereum's $38 billion decentralized finance (DeFi) TVL represents a 53% market share, signaling institutional investors' preference. Additionally, when including its layer-2 scaling solutions, the Ethereum ecosystem accounts for 43% of decentralized exchange (DEX) volumes. However, Ethereum faces criticism for relatively low 30-day fees of $11 million.

Despite controlled $ETH issuance at 0.8% equivalent annual inflation, the staking reward rate was 2.7%, lower than the US money market yield. Adding to investors' concerns, the publicly listed company BitMine (BMNR US) held $9.3 billion in unrealized losses on its $ETH reserves. The company, led by its Chairman Tom Lee, continues to increase its position.

Even though there is no imminent risk of BitMine being forced to reduce its $ETH holdings, the situation likely deters institutional investors' appetite. More concerningly, US-listed Ether spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) posted net outflows for six consecutive weeks.
