Bitcoin dropped below $63,000 on Tuesday as technical weakness, institutional outflows, and leveraged selling combined to deepen pressure across the cryptocurrency market.

$BTC traded near $62,491 at press time, down 3% over 24 hours, while the global crypto market value fell 3.47% to $2.14 trillion. Ether lost more than 6%, and BNB declined over 4%, while Solana and HYPE each fell more than 7%.

Bitcoin’s $66K Rejection Puts $62K Support Back in Focus

The sell-off began after Bitcoin climbed toward the $65,500 to $66,100 resistance zone on Monday but failed to secure a breakout.

That rejection reversed short-term momentum and pushed the asset below a five-day ascending support trendline established after prices recovered from the $62,000 region.

Ondo Finance has pushed its tokenized stock strategy deeper into cross-chain distribution, bringing Ondo Global Markets assets live through LI.FI’s aggregation infrastructure. The integration gives applications connected to LI.FI access to more than 438 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs, moving assets such as Tesla, Nvidia, Apple, QQQ and SPY closer to users already operating across Web3 rails. The notable shift is that tokenized equities are becoming composable distribution assets, not just isolated products sitting inside a single issuer interface or exchange venue for traditional investors.

The rollout matters because LI.FI sits as connective infrastructure for more than 1,000 partners, giving wallets, apps and protocols a route to plug tokenized U.S. market exposure into cross-chain user flows. Ondo Global Markets is already described as the world’s largest tokenized securities platform, with more than $1 billion in total value locked and tens of thousands of holders. In that context, distribution may now matter as much as issuance, because tokenized assets only become useful at scale when users can reach them where liquidity and wallets already exist without rebuilding market access from scratch across ecosystems.

Three of the largest U.S. crypto advocacy organizations have urged Congress to pass legislation that would allow digital asset miners and stakers to defer taxation on newly created tokens until those assets are sold.

In a joint letter sent to the House Ways and Means Committee, the Blockchain Association, Crypto Council for Innovation and The Digital Chamber voiced support for H.R. 9175, the Tax Clarity for Mining and Staking Act, and called on lawmakers to approve the bill as introduced.

The groups described the proposal as a “balanced compromise” that would address years of uncertainty surrounding the taxation of mining and staking rewards while preserving eventual income recognition.
Representative Mike Carey introduced the legislation. It would establish a new framework for taxing newly minted digital assets received through mining and staking activities.

Under current IRS guidance, miners and stakers generally recognize taxable income when rewards are received. The proposed bill would preserve that treatment as the default option. 

However, it would also allow taxpayers an alternative approach that defers income recognition until the assets are disposed of.

If a taxpayer makes that election, newly minted digital assets would not be included in gross income when received. Instead, gains would be recognized when the assets are sold or otherwise disposed of.

Supporters argue that the approach addresses concerns that taxpayers can face tax liabilities before they have converted rewards into cash.
