 Bank of Korea advances deposit token project toward full-scale deploymentThe Bank of Korea and participating banks have discussed operating deposit tokens on a continuous basis with the goal of establishing conditions for a formal rollout, according to briefing materials submitted by the Korea Federation of Banks to the office of People Power Party lawmaker Lee Heon-seung.

The materials noted that a follow-up test would seek to build a foundation for the official introduction and wider adoption of deposit tokens. Participating institutions also reviewed a plan to maintain operations without service interruptions while preparing for eventual commercialization.

Deposit tokens are digital bank deposits issued by commercial banks on top of a wholesale central bank digital currency infrastructure provided by the Bank of Korea. During the first pilot conducted last year, consumers used electronic wallets to complete real-world payments with deposit tokens

An analysis suggests that XRP could outperform Bitcoin (BTC) during a strong bull market based on the XRP/BTC trading pair. If Bitcoin rallies above $200,000, capital flowing into altcoins could help XRP gain at a much faster rate. 

A projected 13x outperformance versus Bitcoin implies that XRP could potentially deliver returns of up to 20x from current levels. However, this remains a technical projection based on historical chart patterns and market conditions, not a guaranteed outcome.

Among the digital assets, Ripple’s XRP has weakened its position within the bear market. It has posted a drop of 1.01%, currently trading at $1.13. Its trading volume has surged by over 50.57% to $1.19 billion. Moreover, the XRP market has seen $2.80 million worth of liquidation. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies have risen in the last 24 hours as hopes for a US-Iran deal increase. However, this rise does not signal a bottom for $BTC.

According to CryptoQuant analysts, the data indicates that the bear market in Bitcoin is not yet over. According to CryptoQuant analyst Gaah, the cycle momentum indicators in Bitcoin have failed to return to the neutral zone. Therefore, any signal of a trend reversal in $BTC has not been confirmed.

“The Bitcoin Cycle Momentum chart shows that the bear market is not over yet.”

The Bitcoin Cycle Momentum indicator did not rise above the neutral zone (0), therefore the bear market is still ongoing.”

The analyst noted that the indicator has currently fallen to “-30 points”. While this is historically a deep zone for a cyclical bottom formation, according to the analyst, the fact that the indicator has entered a deep bottom zone does not immediately confirm a trend reversal.

The analyst stated that a reversal could only be confirmed if the Bitcoin price forms a bullish pattern and the cycle momentum indicator rises above the neutral zone.

Burak Kesmeci, another CryptoQuant analyst, argues that Bitcoin needs to reach and surpass $72,100 to begin its upward trend.

“The $72,100 level is currently acting as a strong resistance line. Until this price level is breached, selling pressure from new large investors in a loss-making position could negatively impact the market.”
