Jaredfromsubway, one of the best-known MEV bots on the Ethereum network, has reportedly been attacked, with millions of dollars worth of assets stolen.

According to a community alert shared by Blockaid, the company’s vulnerability detection system identified an attack targeting the jaredfromsubway MEV bot on Ethereum. Initial assessments suggest that the attackers manipulated the bot’s automated MEV execution mechanism, directing the system to validate tokens for contracts under their control.

Blockaid stated that at least $7.5 million worth of assets were stolen in the incident, while on-chain sources indicated that the total loss exceeded $15 million. The company added that the incident was not a classic phishing attack or a traditional smart contract vulnerability in the victim’s contract.

The attack was based on tricking the bot’s mechanism for automatically evaluating seemingly profitable MEV opportunities. The attackers created fake wrapper tokens and liquidity pools, pairing fake routes such as fWETH, fUSDC, and fUSDT with fCAP tokens. These transactions appeared to the MEV bot as lucrative arbitrage opportunities.

As a result, the bot approved auxiliary contracts controlled by the attackers as addresses with spending authority. In the initial test operations, it was noted that the approvals given were immediately consumed within the route and did not leave any permanent permission behind. However, in subsequent operations, the attackers created routes that the bot approved but where this permission was neither consumed nor revoked.

MicroStrategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor Hints at Buying Bitcoin Again After Calling for Community Unity

On Sunday, MicroStrategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor hinted at buying Bitcoin (BTC) again. This came just hours after he called for unity among Bitcoin holders.

The timing is somewhat unusual. Recent filings by MicroStrategy show that the company sold a small amount of Bitcoin, rather than bought any, and it hasn't disclosed any new purchases in three weeks.

A chart shared by Saylor depicts the amount of Bitcoin MicroStrategy has held since 2020 and its average purchase price. Each orange dot represents a single purchase.

According to regulatory filings, as of press time, MicroStrategy holds 846,842 BTC. The average cost is $75,658, and the current holding price is about 10% below cost.

On Sunday, Bitcoin traded near $64,082, up 1.31% for the day. This brings the value of MicroStrategy's Bitcoin holdings to approximately $54.2 billion.

Saylor's move has sparked speculation about a new wave of Bitcoin purchases, similar to his previous acquisition strategy. The company (formerly MicroStrategy) has been acquiring Bitcoin since 2020 and remains the largest corporate shareholder, holding a significant lead.

He also said the move showed how Bitcoin can function inside a corporate treasury. Rather than showing weak conviction, it showed that a company can hold Bitcoin, raise capital against it and use a limited amount when cash needs arise.

Back’s argument also places the sale inside a larger shift in corporate Bitcoin finance, where companies use $BTC alongside preferred shares, debt, common equity, and market tools today

The analyst reminded that interest rates on traditional corporate bonds are generally fixed, meaning that interest payments do not change even if the company struggles, and that a drop in market price primarily affects investors.

However, according to Martinez, Strategy’s STRC debt structure operates differently. The analyst noted that the interest rate can be adjusted upwards to keep the bond price stable, and that if a drop in Bitcoin price increases investor panic, Strategy might have to pay higher interest rates to appease investors.
