⚡️ ALGORAND IS PREPARING ITS NETWORK FOR QUANTUM-RESISTANT SECURITY BY 2027
Algorand Foundation has presented a post-quantum cryptography roadmap. The goal is to make the blockchain broadly resistant to quantum attacks by the end of 2027.
🔹 Algorand started moving in this direction back in 2022.
🔹 Falcon is already used on Mainnet through State Proofs.
🔹 In 2025, Algorand completed its first post-quantum transaction.
🔹 Native post-quantum accounts are planned for Q3 2026.
🔹 Post-quantum multisig support is expected by the end of 2026.
🔹 Falcon-1024, Falcon-512, SDK, AlgoKit and Pera Wallet support are also part of the roadmap.
🔹 The next major stage is research into post-quantum VRF and consensus.
What this means
The quantum threat is not a question of “if,” but “when.”
For blockchain, this is a move to a new level of protection for keys, signatures, multisig wallets and staking.
Algorand is preparing in advance, not after the attack. This is an important signal for institutions, funds, companies and large holders.
Conclusion
Algorand is strengthening the foundation of its network for the next cryptographic era.
If blockchains used to compete mainly on speed and fees, the next stage will be security against quantum attacks.
