More than any other congressional race this year, the crypto sector's campaign-funding operations dumped massive cash into Barry Moore's Alabama Senate bid, with the leading political action committee alone spending more than $12 million to push the Republican onto the general-election ballot.

It worked. On Tuesday, Moore won the Republican primary runoff over former Navy Seal Jared Hudson, so Trump's loyal supporter will now be expected to triumph in the November general election because of his state's deeply GOP voter base.

The Fairshake super PAC and its affiliates remain the crypto industry's leading campaign-finance operations, and they devoted their most extensive spending yet to Moore, who as a member of Congress has voted yes on every noteworthy piece of crypto legislation. Moore didn't exceed the 50% mark in the initial May primary in Alabama, so a runoff was held this week.

“Our biggest spend of the cycle yielded yet another pro-innovation champion in the Senate, and with nearly $150 million cash on hand we are ready to continue driving the construction of the largest pro-crypto caucus in history,” said Geoff Vetter, a Fairshake spokesman.

At the time of their most recent filings with the Federal Election Commission, the collection of related PACs had about $164 million on hand at the end of April, though they were spending at a rapid clip.

Tuesday's result — with Moore taking almost 56% of the vote — will likely counter the industry's setback in Illinois, where Fairshake spent more than $10 million trying to defeat Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton, who went on to claim victory in the Democratic primary, all but guaranteeing that the next Senate would have a member who crypto interests spent heavily against. Crypto markets held steady on Tuesday even as Japan lifted interest rates to a three-decade high amid rising domestic inflation.

The Bank of Japan’s policy board raised its benchmark interest rate to around 1% in a 7-1 vote, with the new guideline effective June 17. Policymakers flagged a risk of inflation rising above a 2% target as higher oil prices feed through to consumer goods, with further hikes expected.

A relief rally lifted crypto markets after President Trump announced a deal with Iran over the weekend, easing the tensions which the Bank of Japan had tied to rising oil prices. The deal moved Bitcoin above $65,000 from the low $60,000s. A signing is expected on Friday.

At time of publication, Bitcoin is trading around $66,000, down 1.1% on the day, per CoinGecko data. Traders on prediction market Myriad, owned by Decrypt’s parent company Dastan, remain predominantly bearish on its outlook, placing a 64% chance on Bitcoin’s next move taking it to $55,000.

The U.S. SEC has approved the launch of T. Rowe Price’s Active Crypto ETF, with XRP emerging as one of the fund’s most significant holdings.

Specifically, the SEC approved a rule change filed by NYSE Arca on June 12, allowing the exchange to list shares of the actively managed crypto fund. Notably, XRP is not merely included in the fund, but ranks as the third-largest asset in the portfolio. According to the index weightings assigned on Jan. 8, 2026, Bitcoin accounts for 41.87% of the basket, while Ethereum holds an 18.55% allocation. XRP follows as the third-largest holding with an 11.42% weighting.

Interestingly, XRP commands a larger allocation than several prominent cryptocurrencies, including Solana (8.66%), Dogecoin (4.51%), Bitcoin Cash (3.69%), and Cardano (3.46%). This substantial weighting highlights XRP’s importance within the ETF’s investment strategy.
