The market reaction was immediate, with many viewing the move as a key milestone in integrating crypto into traditional brokerage platforms. In simple terms, brokerage platforms will now integrate crypto directly into the same investment ecosystem investors use for stocks, ETFs, and long-term portfolio management.

Naturally, the impact on Bitcoin and Ethereum could be substantial, especially considering Charles Schwab manages nearly $12 trillion in client assets. Even as market conditions remained uncertain, builders on Avalanche continued to ship, expand, and innovate.

However, the $AVAX price has been moving in the opposite direction despite these strong fundamentals. While the ecosystem celebrates milestones, the token itself has struggled to gain upward momentum. But why is $AVAX price still sliding even as Avalanche continues to grow?

Bitcoin ABC Wave Says The Last Drop Has Not Happened
The Bitcoin price continues to struggle after bears had initially broken the support at $70,000, and the resulting weakness has threatened further downtrend. This move aligns with crypto analyst Minga’s prediction that the digital asset was actually stuck in an ABC wave trend.

In the analysis, which was shared on the X (formerly Twitter) platform, the analyst explained that Bitcoin was actually sticking to this trend. Despite the fact that historical movements do not always play out the same way, there is still enough possibility for investors to be cautious.

Deep-diving into the wave pattern, the analyst’s chart shows that the start of the wave began with the price above $100,000. As the price had declined, so did the wave continue to play out. The latest of these now is the fact that the Bitcoin price has now entered the final leg of the wave pattern and this is the most bearish part.

The last wave, Wave C, is the wave that usually leads to the most decline. Here, it is expected to trigger an almost 50% decline in the digital asset’s price. Going by historical performance, following this trend would see the Bitcoin price eventually fall below $40,000.

ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood Says Bitcoin’s Era of 85-95% Bear Market Crashes Is Over as Asset Matures
The CEO of ARK Invest, Cathie Wood, has stated that Bitcoin is now a proven asset and it won’t face an 85% price correction from its new All-time High (ATH) during this bear market. She gave these comments during a recent Squawk Box interview with CNBC. The statement comes as several analysts have predicted an extreme bearish bias in this market, which could lead to price levels below $40k.

Bitcoin is currently trading around the $67k figure at press time, down 47% from its ATH of $126.5k. The cryptocurrency has largely held its value during the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, but there are growing fears that holders might capitulate further, with estimates of a potential bottom ranging from $30k to $56k.
Wood believed that Bitcoin has evolved from “very new tech” to “a proven technology, a proven monetary system, and a new asset class.” She emphasized growing “institutionalization” of Bitcoin, which has reduced its correlation with other assets and strengthened its price floor.

Because of the premier cryptocurrency’s growing maturity, she believes that big price drops from the previous bull season’s ATH are now a thing of the past. 

“Because you’re right; the 85-95% collapses associated with a very new technology — that’s done. This is a proven technology, it’s a proven monetary system, and it’s a new asset class,” she said.

In the previous 2020-2022 cycle, Bitcoin posted an ATH of $69k but then dropped back to $15,600, a 76% decline. In the 2016-2018 cycle, the cryptocurrency reached a high of $20k but fell back to $3k within a year, a 90% decline. This year, the largest price decline we have witnessed was 52% when the crypto bounced back from the $60k level.
