Based on responses from over 1,000 senior executives across banks, asset managers, fintech firms, and corporations, the report finds that 72% of institutions believe offering digital asset services is now necessary to stay competitive. This highlights a clear transition from early skepticism to active integration into core financial strategies.
Stablecoins Driving Real-World Adoption
Stablecoins stand out as one of the most practical and fast-growing use cases. Around 74% of respondents believe they help unlock trapped capital and significantly improve treasury and liquidity management beyond simple payments.
Fintech companies are currently leading adoption, using stablecoins for everyday payments and settlements. Meanwhile, traditional financial institutions are increasingly exploring partnerships to integrate stablecoin capabilities into their existing systems.
Custody and Security Become Top Priorities
As tokenization gains momentum, custody has emerged as a critical requirement. An overwhelming 89% of institutions prioritizing digital asset services highlight secure custody and storage as the most important factor when selecting providers.
Different sectors show distinct priorities:
Banks focus more on lifecycle management and pre-issuance advisory services
Asset managers prioritize distribution channels and broader client access
Institutions Demand Security and Integrated Platforms
Across the board, institutions are applying stricter standards when evaluating partners. Security certifications, regulatory clarity, technical support, and industry experience are now key decision drivers.
