The fall reflects market concern over Al-led restructuring and softer near-term revenue guidance. The tech giant's projected revenue for the current quarter came in between $664 million and $665 million, below Wall Street's $666.1 million estimate but up 34% from the same period last year. Additionally, adjusted earnings reached $0.25 per share, beating expectations of $0.23 per share.
Cloudflare also improved profitability during the quarter. Adjusted operating income rose to $73.1 million, equal to 11.4% of revenue.
Furthermore, free cash flow reached $84.1 million, representing 13% of total revenue.Despite the good numbers, the reason why NET investors panicked on Friday was a newly announced wave of layoffs. Cloudflare announced plans to cut more than 1,100 jobs worldwide. The reduction equals about 20% of its global workforce. The company linked the move to its shift toward an agentic Al-first operating model. The move capped off a week of several top companies issuing layoffs, including crypto exchange Coinbase (COIN).
Several companies in tech are now spending money on artificial intelligence tools, such as Al agents, to do tasks previously performed by workers. Hence, Wall Street is fearful of how this will impact future revenue. Ripple Gains Relevance with Mastercard Partnership
The mechanics of the pilot reveal how each institution contributed a distinct piece of the settlement architecture. Ripple redeemed a portion of its holdings in OUSG — Ondo Finance’s Short-Term US Government Treasuries fund, a tokenized product available to accredited investors and qualified purchasers — directly on the XRP Ledger. Ondo processed the redemption and triggered a fiat payout instruction through Mastercard’s Multi-Token Network (MTN), a platform designed to enable interoperability between on-chain assets and traditional money movement systems.

From there, Mastercard’s MTN routed the instruction to Kinexys by J.P. Morgan — JPMorgan’s blockchain infrastructure platform, which has now processed more than $3 trillion in cumulative transactions, per figures cited in the announcement.

Following the confirmation of the upcoming markup session, Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal reacted by saying, “It’s on like Donkey Kong,” while Coinbase Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad described the development as a “big step forward” for both innovation and consumer protection in the United States.

For years, crypto companies have argued that unclear regulations and aggressive enforcement policies under the previous SEC leadership pushed innovation and investment away from the US toward more crypto-friendly countries. Many industry participants believe the CLARITY Act could help reverse that trend by creating a more predictable legal framework for blockchain businesses and investors.

Pro-crypto Senator Cynthia Lummis also publicly backed the legislation and urged lawmakers to move the bill forward through the Banking Committee. According to industry insiders, the legislation will likely require bipartisan support and at least 60 votes in the Senate to eventually become law.
