Zcash price surged more than 40% on Wednesday, briefly touching the $600 mark after Multicoin Capital co-founder Tushar Jain revealed the firm had quietly accumulated a significant position in the privacy-focused cryptocurrency since early 2024.

According to data from crypto.news, Zcash ($ZEC) surged from an intraday low near $405 to as high as $607 before stabilizing around $579 at press time. The rally pushed the privacy-focused token to a fresh year-to-date high and made it one of the best-performing cryptocurrencies across both daily and weekly timeframes.

Analysts at leading investment firm Mizuho are a bit more cautious on Meta Platforms, recently lowering their forecast for the stock. Overall, most Wall Street analysts remain bullish on META stock, but its increase in Al spending this year has raised concerns.Meta earnings for Q1 2026 beat expectations on nearly every metric.
Revenue climbed 33% year-over-year to $56.31 billion, net income surged 61% to $26.77 billion, and earnings per share came in at $10.44, up from $6.43 a year ago.
However, despite the solid earnings, the Al spending is still a focus for investors who have lowered their forecasts, including Mizuho.On Tuesday, top Mizuho analyst Lloyd Walmsley reiterated a Buy rating on Meta Platforms stock, but lowered his price target to $835 from $850 amid concerns about high capital spending. Walmsley is positive on META stock and expects the company to roll out more Al products that will clarify what it plans to do with its new and improved large language model (LLM) and how it intends to monetize it eventually.
Additionally, the analyst believes that it is important for Meta Platforms to clearly show its product roadmap and user adoption, and/ or start controlling its costs and capex growth before it announces its Q2 results and issues third-quarter guidance, especially as it will face significantly tougher comparisons.Also Read: Coinbase (COIN)

The fresh optimism over a potential ceasefire sent oil prices reeling, easing inflation fears and freeing capital for risk assets like Bitcoin.

Sentiment across trading desks flipped sharply constructive in the past 24 hours as geopolitical relief and fresh institutional signals lifted risk assets. 

Bitcoin broke multi-month resistance, oil prices cratered on U.S.-Iran peace deal progress, and selective altcoin rallies—especially in privacy tokens—signaled a rotation into higher-beta plays. 

The total crypto market cap climbed toward $2.73 trillion, up roughly 2%, while short liquidations exceeded $350 million. Investors appeared to price in lower macro volatility even as corporate earnings delivered a mixed bag. 

Bitcoin opened the period near $80,000 and steadily climbed, trading between $81,000 and $82,400 by late afternoon IST on May 6. The flagship asset touched levels not seen since late January, posting gains of nearly 8% in 24 hours. 

A weaker U.S. dollar, stronger Nasdaq futures, and a nearly 6% drop in Brent crude—triggered by reports of ceasefire momentum and a memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran—provided the clearest tailwinds. 

Ethereum held steady around $2,400, while Solana pushed toward $89 and XRP traded near $1.45. Dogecoin added about 4%. Among altcoins, privacy coins stole the spotlight, with Zcash surging into double-digit territory, briefly approaching $500, while Dash followed with similar gains—as per CoinMarketCap data. 

The move echoed renewed interest in on-chain privacy amid broader risk-on flows. AI-linked tokens and certain Solana ecosystem names also posted outsized gains.
