Crypto analyst Michael van de Poppe broke down what comes next and what it actually means for prices across the major digital assets.
The Path Forward Is Not Simple
Van de Poppe opened up about the procedural challenges still ahead. The bill now moves to the full Senate where it needs 60 votes to pass. Only two Democrats joined Republicans on the committee vote, which means significant outreach across the aisle is still required.

Сенаторы Рубен Гальего и Анджела Алторбуш присоединились к республиканцам, чтобы продвинуть этот далеко идущий законопроект о структуре криптовалютного рынка.

Закон о прозрачности рынков цифровых активов — это предложение Сената о создании федеральной структуры для торговли цифровыми активами, стейблкоинами и посредниками. Цель законопроекта — делегировать регулирующие полномочия Комиссии по ценным бумагам и биржам (SEC) и Комиссии по торговле товарными фьючерсами (CFTC), а также установить правила регистрации, раскрытия информации и соблюдения требований для бирж, брокеров и депозитариев. Strategy Made a New Announcement Worth $1.5 Billion! Did They Sell Bitcoin (BTC)?
Strategy, the largest institutional Bitcoin ($BTC) investor, announced it will repurchase $1.5 billion worth of bonds.
Accordingly, Straetgy announced in an official statement that it has signed agreements with some investors to repurchase approximately $1.5 billion of its 0% interest convertible senior bonds maturing in 2029.
The company stated that the expected cash purchase price is approximately $1.38 billion.
The statement also indicated that the buyback could be financed with existing cash reserves, proceeds from the market-price share offering program, and revenue from Bitcoin sales.
Strategy expects the transaction to be completed around May 19th. Following the repurchase, the bonds will be redeemed, leaving approximately $1.5 billion in principal for the 2029 bonds.
As you may recall, last week Strategy founder Michael Saylor hinted at selling Bitcoin ($BTC) for the first time. While this caused surprise in the market, Strategy CEO Phong Le shared two scenarios in which they could sell $BTC.

Le had stated that, in the first scenario, they could sell their shares to finance dividend payments for STRC, which has perpetual preferred shares; and in the second scenario, they could sell to take advantage of tax benefits.

US President Donald Trump's family trust executed hundreds of millions of dollars in financial transactions during the first quarter of 2026, including the acquisition of stocks directly tied to the digital asset industry, even as his administration pushed sweeping, pro-cryptocurrency regulatory overhauls.

According to a mandatory 278-T financial disclosure form released on May 14 by the US Office of Government Ethics, the president's portfolio underwent more than 3,600 transactions between January and March.

The filings indicate the cumulative value of these transactions ranges from $220 million to $750 million across municipal bonds, index funds, and individual corporate equities.
While the vast majority of transactions involved traditional blue-chip stocks and broad-market index funds, the targeted purchases of crypto-adjacent firms have drawn immediate scrutiny from government ethics watchdogs.

Crypto analyst Bee has forecasted a major price bottom for Bitcoin (BTC), the world’s largest digital currency. Despite its recent rally above $80,000, the expert still believes that BTC remains in a broader bearish market, likely viewing the latest price gains as a temporary bounce. While some analysts think that Bitcoin’s downtrend is over and others project a bottom around the $50,000 range, Bee expects BTC’s price to decline even lower before a sustained rally can begin.

Bitcoin Price Set To Bottom Around $42,000
In an X post on May 11, Bee said that Bitcoin is just one leg away from reaching its historical cycle bottom. The market expert shared a video chart analysis highlighting technical patterns and historical trends to support their bearish Bitcoin price outlook.

The analyst’s chart shows that Bitcoin has been forming multiple ascending channels within a broader descending channel since reaching a cycle peak above $126,200 in October 2025. After recording this all-time high, Btc crashed to $82,167, forming a lower low, where the first ascending channel began. Within this channel, the cryptocurrency traded sideways for months before rallying again to touch the upper boundary of the pattern at around $97,855.

After that lower high was reached, BTC began crashing again, but this time, the decline was even sharper and more severe. The cryptocurrency had fallen to $59,900 around February 2026, forming a lower low that many analysts still consider BTC’s final cycle bottom.
