BlackRock made a significant contribution through its IBIT fund, which continues to attract substantial amounts of capital, while Fidelity and ARK Invest products also saw steady inflows.

This reversal occurred after a series of sell-offs in late March and early April, suggesting that investors are gradually regaining confidence in the short-term prospects of this leading digital asset.


Ethereum is starting to catch up.

In parallel with Bitcoin, Ethereum ETFs also showed an improving trend, albeit moderately, according to data from FarSide Investors. The approximately $50 million net inflow that day indicates renewed market interest after a period of hesitation.


 The largest contributions came from products associated with Fidelity and BlackRock, indicating that institutional investors are beginning to diversify their investments beyond Bitcoin.

Meanwhile, the staking structure of some of these products remains a key factor attracting attention compared to traditional Bitcoin ETFs.

Limited Interest in Alternative Assets

While Bitcoin and Ethereum dominated ETF flows, other crypto assets have not garnered sufficient attention from institutional investors. The Solana ETF saw negligible flows, with net inflows near zero, indicating a lack of compelling catalysts.

It currently takes a comprehensive look through the state of:

The current state of quantum computing, as well as research into different quantum computing technologies that could lead to material engineering progress towards a viable device.

The level of exposure, i.e. how many coins and how much overall value is currently vulnerable to long-range attacks by a capable quantum computer.

Post-quantum cryptographic schemes, as well as the current state of research in developing variants of such schemes more heavily optimized for Bitcoin’s unique architecture and way of functioning.

Different ways of implementing post-quantum cryptography in Bitcoin, and the trade-offs between these different paths.

Different mechanisms for safely migrating vulnerable coins to quantum-safe addresses in the event that a powerful enough quantum computer is created before users migrate to post-quantum cryptography.

While defensive positioning has become a common theme in the Bitcoin (BTC) market, research and brokerage firm K33 says that persistently negative funding conditions, coupled with rising open interest and increasing prices, indicate increased short-selling aggression, raising the likelihood of a future short squeeze.

Veter Lunde, Head of Research at K33, noted in a new report that the 30-day average funding rate for Bitcoin derivatives has been negative for 46 consecutive days. This coincides with the duration of negative funding mechanisms seen around the end of the 2022 bear market.

Lundde stated, "With the recent tightening of funding rates and the unusually persistent negative interest rate environment, we believe the likelihood of Bitcoin prices reaching new highs and breaking out of the 68-day consolidation range is increasing."

Lundde points out that periods of rising notional open interest, rising Bitcoin prices, and negative daily, 7-day, and 30-day average funding rates often occur near consolidation bottoms.

 “The current native market positioning of cryptocurrencies aligns with these conditions, which is why we highlighted funding rate mechanisms in our reports over the past month and why we maintain our bullish outlook on Bitcoin,” he said.

According to K33’s analysis, only the periods of consecutive negative 30-day funding rates were March to May 2020 (63 days) and June to August 2021 (49 days).
