Core Scientific announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2026. The company reported selling a total of 2,385 Bitcoin during the period, generating approximately $208.3 million in revenue. However, the company also reported a net loss of $347.2 million for the same period.

A significant portion of the losses consisted of $266.5 million in impairment expenses for mining equipment and related assets. The company stated that these steps were taken to finance the transformation process towards AI data center operations.

Core Scientific also announced that it has completed the issuance of $3.3 billion in secured bonds with an interest rate of 7.75 percent to support data center investments and restructure approximately $1 billion in term loans.

Artificial intelligence infrastructure has been at the heart of the company’s recent growth strategy. In particular, the long-term agreement with CoreWeave, which increases capacity to 590 megawatts, is expected to generate approximately $10.2 billion in revenue over the next 12 years.

Indiana Republican James Baird cruised to victory Tuesday in his party’s primary for the state’s 4th congressional district, pulling in over 60% of the vote against challenger Craig Haggard and a handful of others.

Baird also had the backing of US President Donald Trump. But another force was working in his favor: Defend American Jobs, a Super PAC tied to Fairshake, poured roughly $514,000 into media buys supporting him ahead of the vote, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission.

Fairshake itself is bankrolled by some of the biggest names in crypto, including Coinbase and Ripple Labs. The committee spent over $130 million trying to shape the outcome of the 2024 elections. In 2026, it’s already at it again — about $10 million has been directed toward races in Illinois and Texas so far.

Baird has been in Congress since January 2019 and has built a record that crypto advocates consider dependable. He backed the GENIUS Act, which deals with stablecoin regulation, and the CLARITY Act, a bill focused on crypto market structure. For Fairshake, he was worth protecting.

What’s Expected for Bitcoin (BTC) Price by Year-End? Accordingly, options investors are targeting $115,000 for Bitcoin by the end of the year.

According to the data, the number of investors betting that Bitcoin will rise above $115,000 by the end of 2026 in the options market is steadily increasing.

The 33% price increase since the annual low of $60,130 on February 6th is playing a significant role in increasing bullish expectations.

It is estimated that there is approximately $6 billion in open positions in Bitcoin options that expire on December 25th.

A significant portion of this consists of call option bets on the Bitcoin price rising above $115,000. Open positions for $115,000 and above are approximately $1.85 billion.

However, at prices of $55,000 and below, there is a $1 billion put option, a figure that is also noteworthy.

This means that options traders are betting on extreme price expectations in both bullish and bearish markets. If the bulls appear overly optimistic, those taking short positions appear equally overly pessimistic.

Stablecoin card spend is growing 100% year over year, Rain exec saysStablecoin-based cards could soon account for double-digit percentages of all cards in some Latin American markets, John Timoney, head of strategic partnerships at Rain, a payments infrastructure platform, said.

Retail stablecoin card spend grew about 105% to 106% over the past year, Timoney said during a panel at Consensus Miami 2026. Cards are physical or virtual, allowing users to spend stablecoins such as tether and USD Coin (USDC) directly from a digital wallet for daily purchases.

Rain provides stablecoin infrastructure for card issuers and recently became a Mastercard Principal Member, allowing it to offer credit and prepaid cards on the Mastercard network. Rain and Mastercard are also exploring on-chain settlement for some card program flows using regulated stablecoins.

The company is not trying to replace card networks, Timoney said. It is trying to make stablecoin balances usable through existing networks that already reach merchants globally.

“The card networks over decades have rolled up hundreds of millions of merchants,” Timoney said. “Rain explicitly did not want to reinvent the wheel.”

BTC/USD Forecast: Bitcoin Pulls Back from 200-Day Moving Average

Bitcoin was slightly weaker early in trading on Thursday, but that wasn't unexpected.

On Wednesday, Bitcoin broke through the 200-day moving average, forming a shooting star pattern.

While this is a negative candlestick pattern, I don't plan to short Bitcoin because, frankly, the current situation is such that traders are pushing the price higher, regardless of interest rates, war, or any other factors that could theoretically negatively impact Bitcoin.

If Bitcoin breaks the 200-day moving average and holds above it, it would be a clear bullish signal. This could open the way to $84,000. This area has previously acted as both support and resistance, and I now see it as a good target for growth.
