Bitcoin price jumped past $75,000 on Wednesday as traders recalibrated what the asset represents in the wake of the Iran conflict and an unusually stretched derivatives market. Price action, positioning data, and a real-world test of bitcoin as a settlement rail now point to a market that values the token as more than a volatile wager on tech risk.
Bitcoin price traded around $74,000 to $75,000 on April 15, extending a rebound that began after a February low near $60,000. The move leaves the asset up roughly 23% from that trough and about 3% on the week, even as broader macro and geopolitical headlines remain tense.
Spot markets now face stiff resistance in the $75,000 to $76,000 band, a zone several analysts flag as the ceiling of a two‑month consolidation range.

Bitcoin is testing a level that capped its rally in January, CryptoQuant says

Bitcoin’s rally toward $75,000 is running into a wall of supply just as institutional demand is holding steady.

The move higher has been driven largely by macro flows rather than a broad surge in speculative activity. U.S.-listed spot bitcoin ETFs have continued to draw consistent inflows this month, including roughly $240 million in a single session following geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, according to market maker Enflux.

That bid helped lift $BTC from around $71,000 to the mid-$70,000s, even as traditional markets absorbed rising oil prices and shifting rate expectations. The pattern, Enflux noted, reflects allocation behavior rather than momentum chasing.

But as bitcoin pushes higher, the character of the market is starting to change.

On-chain data suggests supply is beginning to emerge more aggressively as prices approach a key cost-basis level for short-term holders. Around $76,800 sits the so-called realized price for recent buyers, effectively the average entry point for traders who accumulated during the last phase of the drawdown, according to CryptoQuant. In weaker market regimes, that level has often acted as resistance, as investors who were previously underwater use rallies to exit at breakeven.

It should be noted that the same band capped January's bounce almost to the dollar before prices reversed toward $60,000.

Goldman Sachs: A Different Kind Of Bitcoin Play
Goldman Sachs has filed paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a Bitcoin Premium Income ETF, a fund designed to give investors Bitcoin exposure while generating regular income through options trading.

The bank plans to put at least 80% of the fund’s assets into products tied to Bitcoin’s price — including shares of existing spot Bitcoin ETFs and options on those funds — rather than buying Bitcoin outright.

To produce income, Goldman intends to sell call options on Bitcoin ETF holdings at a premium. That strategy lets the fund collect fees from options buyers. The tradeoff is a cap on how much upside investors can capture if Bitcoin’s price shoots higher.

The Second Bank To Make A Move
Goldman’s filing comes on the heels of a similar push from Morgan Stanley, which launched its own spot Bitcoin ETF last week — making it the first bank-issued Bitcoin ETF on record.

Goldman Sachs is now the second major bank to enter this space, though its product takes a different approach. Morgan Stanley went the direct route with a spot fund. Goldman is building around options and indirect exposure.

The filing landed as Bitcoin was already making a move. The leading cryptocurrency climbed as high as $76,000 on the day Goldman’s registration statement was submitted to the SEC, before pulling back to around $75,000.

Goldman Sachs: What The Filing Covers
According to the SEC document, the fund may hold spot Bitcoin ETF shares and Bitcoin ETF options directly. Goldman noted in its prospectus that the fund’s income-generating mechanism centers on selling covered call options against those holdings.

Bitcoin is pushing into a technically important area, with price tightening against resistance and a larger move in either direction looking increasingly likely. $BTC is trading around the $73,000–$74,000 range, showing a rough 5–6% short-term gain, signaling a steady recovery phase in the market. The setup looks constructive on the surface, but analysts who have navigated previous cycles know this is precisely where markets tend to be most deceptive.

$BTC Beyond the Double Bottom Formation

Crypto analyst Rekt Capital has explained that Bitcoin is attempting to break above the neckline of a developing double bottom formation near $72,810. A weekly close above this level or a successful retest could confirm a breakout, opening the path toward $81,000–$82,500.

He warns that similar setups in earlier bear-market phases have appeared convincing but ultimately failed. This means even if Bitcoin breaks out, the move could still turn into a bull trap if momentum doesn’t hold.

A major driver behind the latest move is the edgeX [$EDGE] team’s continued supply reduction strategy.

As the price advanced, the circulating supply tightened. The team deployed $838,000 in buybacks during this rally.

Since initiating the program in April, total buybacks have reached $13 million, steadily removing tokens from the open market.

While individual purchase sizes remain unclear, the influx of new holders signals expanding participation. Total holders stood at 20,600, as of press time.

Bullish flag structure signals continuation

From a technical standpoint, $EDGE continues to trade within a bullish flag pattern, a formation often linked to trend continuation.

The structure followed a strong upward move, with price consolidating within descending resistance and stable support.

Price has now approached the upper boundary of this pattern. A confirmed breakout could open the path toward the recent local high of $1.19, recorded on the 3rd of April.

Further extension remains possible if momentum holds.

However, Shiba Inu recently printed a golden cross on the 30-minute timeframe, an optimistic sign despite the negative trend. For the uninitiated, this cross happens when the 50-period moving average pushes above the 200-period moving average, signaling that buying momentum is increasing.

The golden crossover occurred on Tuesday, signaling a shift in momentum. At the crossing, SHIB printed its largest green candle of the day on the 30-minute timeframe, rising 1.35%.
Currently, this crossover still holds, even though SHIB has consolidated lower from the intraday high of $0.00000603. This trend could see the meme coin rebound considerably when momentum returns and if the broader market conditions remain favorable.

However, it is worth noting that some analysts view a golden cross as a passive indicator that reflects what has already happened in the market. The crossover on lower timeframes is also tricky, as a death cross can also easily form.
