Vitalik Buterin said the Ethereum Foundation (EF) is moving toward a smaller, more focused and more opinionated role, with fewer ETH sales and a sharper mandate around Ethereum’s long-term resilience, privacy, security and capture resistance.

In a lengthy post via X on Sunday, Buterin framed the shift as a deliberate move away from treating the EF as the “center of Ethereum” and toward a narrower function inside a broader ecosystem. He also stressed that the remarks reflected his own view, not an official unilateral directive.

“First of all, this is only my own view. The board is not just me, and I have no extra special powers on the board that the other board members do not,” Buterin wrote. He added that the board is expanding and that his own influence within the organization “will continue to decrease,” which he said is “honestly what I want.”

A Smaller Ethereum Foundation With A Narrower Mandate
Buterin said the EF’s 2025-era changes had improved execution, efficiency and focus on concrete goals. But with those issues partly resolved, he argued that a different criticism became harder to ignore: that Ethereum’s public values around decentralization, privacy and “sanctuary technology” were not always reflected strongly enough in the foundation’s actions.

The result, according to Buterin, is a transition toward a foundation that does less, but does it with more conviction. He described the EF as “one node, with a defined purpose, alongside other nodes,” rather than Ethereum’s central coordinating body.

The Fed may open direct settlement rails to crypto firms as banks warn of liquidity risk $fedYou never see the most important part of any of your payments. When an app says your money moved, a number changes on your screen, and the transaction looks and feels finished.

But underneath those interfaces lies a separate, invisible chain of bank reserves, settlement accounts, and Fed infrastructure that determines when your funds actually clear, who controls that settlement, and which institutions are allowed to participate in it at all.

For crypto payments, that underlying system has been off-limits. Exchanges and crypto companies have had to route all of their dollar payments through partner banks, which handled the actual settlement with the Federal Reserve on their behalf. When those relationships collapsed during the failures of Silvergate and Signature Bank in 2023, they revealed just how fragile that relationship was, and the industry has been building the case for direct Fed access ever since.

Two converging developments this week have brought that case to a head. In December 2025, the Fed formally requested public comment on a new “payment account” that would let eligible non-bank institutions clear and settle payments through Fed infrastructure, without receiving the full package of privileges available to traditional bank master accounts.

Then, on May 19, President Trump signed an executive order titled “Integrating Financial Technology Innovation Into Regulatory Frameworks,” directing the Fed to submit a comprehensive review of its payment access framework within 120 days and establish transparent application procedures within 90. The executive order can't compel the Fed to act, but political backing at that level tends to clarify which way institutional attention is pointing.

The estimate, reported by CoinStats, is derived from aggregated exchange liquidation data that maps where clusters of leveraged short positions sit across major derivatives platforms. When price reaches those levels, exchanges automatically close underwater positions, triggering forced buy orders.
Why $80,414 is the key trigger level for Bitcoin short liquidations
Short liquidations occur when traders who have bet against Bitcoin's price are forced out of their positions. If BTC moves above a threshold where their margin can no longer sustain the loss, the exchange closes the trade automatically and buys back BTC on the open market to settle it.

DeXe continued its strong upward move on Monday as traders increased exposure following a decisive breakout above a major resistance zone. The token climbed to $17.65 after gaining more than 18% in the past 24 hours. Weekly gains now approach 27%, highlighting growing bullish momentum across the broader market.

Trading activity also accelerated sharply during the latest rally. Daily volume reached more than $37 million, while DeXe’s market capitalization climbed above $826 million. Besides rising prices, derivatives data and spot market flows suggest traders continue positioning for additional upside.

$DEXE recently broke above the important $15.00 resistance region after spending weeks inside a broad consolidation range. Consequently, the breakout attracted fresh momentum buyers and triggered a rapid move toward the $17.60 area.

The token currently trades well above its 20-day, 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day exponential moving averages. This structure typically signals sustained long-term strength and continued buyer control. Additionally, the 20 EMA near $13.59 now acts as immediate dynamic support during short-term pullbacks.

The next key support zones stand near $11.87 and $9.72. However, bulls continue defending higher lows aggressively, keeping the broader uptrend intact. As long as $DEXE holds above the $15.00 breakout level, traders may continue targeting higher resistance levels.

Momentum indicators also support the bullish outlook. The Stochastic RSI continues rising near overbought territory, reflecting strong buying pressure. Although short-term cooling remains possible, the current structure still favors continuation.

If buyers maintain control above $16.00, $DEXE could challenge the psychological $18.00 level soon. Moreover, a successful breakout there may
