Cryptolingo DAO founder: The 1.2 billion aUSD in attacker address hasn't left the Acala chain, Acala may reverse the operation through a referendum

08/14 07:48

Cryptolingo DAO founder @IamJulianaC tweeted that Acala uses Honzon Fungibility Pallet to make aUSD fungible between Acala & Karura, this protocol was created with the intention of allowing aUSD to serve as the native stablecoin and source of liquidity across the Polkadot and Kusama multichain ecosystem. The new protocol presented what Acala called a bug, and 2 hours ago this wallet (26JmEcghNmggvT46sojckg34Py9zFRKkCcFy3gr49hrFgT2k) was able to transfer 1,053,707,817 aUSD. So far speculations say they've prevented the wallet from moving out the assets. Also, the relation between the iBTC/aUSD pool and the Honzon protocol bug hasn't been confirmed by Acala team. It's important to point out that the 1.2b hasn't left the Acala chain, and that it is very much possible that Acala can reverse the operation through a referendum.
