Under this amendment, banks will be able to engage in decentralized finance transactions, lend using crypto assets as collateral, trade crypto assets directly, trade crypto derivatives, and more—many of which could go awry. Why are Republicans trying to divert Americans' deposits away from small business loans and home mortgages? It makes no sense at all. Even if this amendment passes, the next crypto crash could still drag down banks and, in turn, the entire economy. We should directly remove this part instead of making superficial fixes and pretending the problem is solved." The amendment was passed with 19 votes in favor and 5 against. The new protocol presented what Acala called a bug, and 2 hours ago this wallet (26JmEcghNmggvT46sojckg34Py9zFRKkCcFy3gr49hrFgT2k) was able to transfer 1,053,707,817 aUSD. So far speculations say they've prevented the wallet from moving out the assets. Also, the relation between the iBTC/aUSD pool and the Honzon protocol bug hasn't been confirmed by Acala team. It's important to point out that the 1.2b hasn't left the Acala chain, and that it is very much possible that Acala can reverse the operation through a referendum.
