Meta Sued for $1.4 Trillion

August 10, according to CCTV News, after two prior convictions and nearly $1 billion in damages, U.S. metaverse company Meta will once again stand as defendant in federal court this week. On August 12, a lawsuit jointly filed by four U.S. states will initiate jury selection at the Oakland federal court. Prosecutors accuse Meta's social media platforms of addictive design causing harm to minors, and are seeking $1.4 trillion in damages.
