On June 10, ABC News reported that U.S. President Trump hinted that if the U.S. destroys Iran's infrastructure, it may ultimately have to participate in the rebuilding. Trump stated, 'Someone has to rebuild all this infrastructure—new bridges, new this and that, new power plants. They say it will cost a trillion dollars, maybe even more. That's why we will likely be involved in the rebuilding, helping them rebuild.' When asked if this would be similar to implementing a 'Marshall Plan' for Iran, Trump replied, 'Yes.' He quickly added, 'But we will take half of their oil.'
