On January 18, X's official creator account @XCreators posted that X's payout amount reached the highest record since the profitability plan started at the end of 2025. The year 2026 is the year of creators, and X is doubling its investment in the area creators excel at: "writing." The goal is to recognize high-value, high-impact content that can shape conversations, spark news, and drive cultural development. Creator Studio will soon launch a more detailed earnings overview panel. X will place more emphasis on formats like articles rather than short content. The goal is to make X the best platform for earning money through content, and this is just the beginning. Additionally, X will award an extra $1 million to the highest-earning article in the next payout cycle. The article must be original content, no less than 1,000 words, and the main evaluation criterion is exposure on the home timeline, limited to US users. Content that violates X policies, contains hate speech, fraud, or manipulative content is not eligible. The article publication window is from January 16 to 28.
