Hermes Agent Releases v0.15.0 with Major Code Reduction and Multi-Agent Platform Upgrade

According to monitoring by Dongcha Beating, the NousResearch team has officially released the open-source agent project Hermes Agent v0.15.0. The core run_agent.py code has been significantly reduced by 76%, from 16,083 lines to 3,821 lines, and completely restructured into 14 highly cohesive modules, eliminating editor loading delays. In terms of cold start and search performance, the development team has compressed the Termux terminal cold-start time to 0.8 seconds by delaying the introduction of OpenAI dependencies and optimizing high-frequency function calls, while the speed of hermes --version has improved by 63% to 258 milliseconds. The reorganized session search tool session_search has eliminated the need for large model calls, opting instead for a no-configuration local filtering method, reducing search time to 20 milliseconds, achieving a 4,500-fold speedup with zero operational costs. The kanban tool has been upgraded to a complete multi-agent collaboration platform. Developers can now initialize a Swarm workflow containing coordinators, parallel workers, independent verification, and synthesis nodes with a single command, hermes kanban swarm, and support for single-task model coverage and scheduled startup has been added. In terms of security defenses, the new version introduces proactive threat defense against Brainworm attacks, implementing traffic filtering and boundary marking at three key points: tool output, memory recall, and external skill loading, preventing agents from being taken over by malicious files or network services. The ecosystem and third-party integration have also undergone significant upgrades. The system now supports unified hosting of all cloud API keys based on Bitwarden, has launched a toolkit that can load multiple skills with a single command, and introduced an interactive installation panel for the official Nous MCP service directory. The xAI ecosystem integration has added the xAI Web Search plugin, which connects Grok's exclusive execution guidance in the hermes proxy, and the hermes doctor diagnostic process can automatically alert for online model issues, supporting one-click hot migration. To address critical issues encountered at the initial release, the official team urgently released patch version v0.15.1 within hours, completely eliminating the 401 infinite reload loop faced by the panel in loopback mode, while also fixing defects such as the failure of path resolution for bare commands like npx within Docker containers and the inability to properly terminate Kanban worker threads under the SIGTERM signal.
