Market Updates: Ripple Pilots Tokenized Bonds in South Korea, XRP Ledger Taps Boundless for Privacy Upgrade, Tether Launches Self-Custody Wallet
Global crypto markets witnessed a series of significant developments today. Ripple unveiled a bond tokenization pilot in South Korea, while the XRP Ledger announced a privacy-focused integration with Boundless. At the same time, U.S.-listed Bitcoin ETFs attracted strong inflows, 
and Tether launched a new self-custodial wallet.
To begin with, Ripple announced a partnership with Kyobo Life Insurance to pilot blockchain-based settlement for government bonds within South Korea’s financial system.

As part of the initiative, Ripple will deploy its custody platform, Ripple Custody, to handle the issuance, settlement, and storage of tokenized bonds.

The move targets longstanding inefficiencies in traditional bond markets, where settlements typically involve multiple intermediaries and can take up to two days. By contrast, blockchain-based processes enable near real-time execution.

If successful, the pilot could reduce counterparty risk and improve capital efficiency. Ripple also indicated that the project may expand into broader tokenized treasury operations across South Korea’s financial ecosystem.

Alongside its bond initiative, Ripple’s ecosystem is progressing on the technological side. In a separate announcement, the XRP Ledger revealed an integration with Boundless to enhance transaction privacy.

The upgrade leverages zero-knowledge technology tailored for institutional use, allowing sensitive transaction details to remain hidden while still meeting regulatory requirements.

According to Boundless CEO Shiv Shankar, the system conceals key information such as transaction size and counterparties, while enabling regulators to access necessary data through selective disclosure.

BlackRock made a significant contribution through its IBIT fund, which continues to attract substantial amounts of capital, while Fidelity and ARK Invest products also saw steady inflows.

This reversal occurred after a series of sell-offs in late March and early April, suggesting that investors are gradually regaining confidence in the short-term prospects of this leading digital asset.

Ethereum is starting to catch up.

In parallel with Bitcoin, Ethereum ETFs also showed an improving trend, albeit moderately, according to data from FarSide Investors. The approximately $50 million net inflow that day indicates renewed market interest after a period of hesitation.

A new class of crypto treasury companies is emerging around Strategy’s high-yield stock, STRC, drawing in firms looking to capture both exposure to bitcoin and additional income.

STRC is a security issued by Strategy, the largest publicly traded holder of bitcoin, as a funding vehicle to support its ongoing bitcoin accumulation strategy. The company raises capital by offering investors an annualized dividend of 11.5%, paid monthly in cash, with proceeds primarily used to purchase BTC.

Such is the stock’s popularity that it registered a record-breaking trading volume on Tuesday, with more than $1.6 billion in shares changing hands.

STRC, the new base layer

As trading volumes surge, a growing number of companies and decentralized finance protocols are accumulating STRC to capture its yield while gaining indirect exposure to bitcoin.

STRC is now being used as a base layer for new financial products that add leverage, tokenization and structured yield.

Saturn Credit, a bitcoin-backed yield platform, accumulated $15 million in STRC within six days of launch. Apyx, an onchain credit protocol, has built a position of 800,000 shares after purchasing an additional 200,000 STRC, with plans to become one of the largest holders.

BitStrategy is taking a similar approach. Co-founder and Head of US Ryan McGinnis said the firm aims to accumulate Strategy securities, with the long-term goal of becoming the world's largest Strategy shareholder.

On-chain, nearly $200 million in tokenized STRC now exists on Ethereum, with close to $100 million trading on Pendle. Pendle is a decentralized finance platform that allows users to trade and separate yield from underlying assets, creating markets for future income streams.

On the other hand, the regulation also imposes certain restrictions on banks. Banks will continue to be prohibited from investing customer funds in crypto assets or directly holding cryptocurrencies. This approach is said to aim at keeping risks under control in the financial system.

Experts say the decision could accelerate the development of the cryptocurrency sector in Pakistan. It is anticipated that crypto companies, which have long faced difficulties accessing the banking system, will now have easier access to financial services.

It is emphasized that this step is also important in terms of strengthening the regulatory framework and increasing investor confidence. Pakistan’s move is among the developments indicating the increasing acceptance of crypto assets on a global scale.

Cardano is back at a point where things can go either way, and right now, one level is doing all the talking. Crypto analyst Ali Martinez points to $0.243 as the line that matters most. This zone has acted as a turning point in the past, either sending $ADA higher or pushing it into deeper declines.

If buyers manage to hold this level, a bounce toward $0.30 is possible. But if it slips below on a daily close, it could open the door to a much deeper drop, with levels near $0.10 coming back into play.

Where $ADA Stands Now

Cardano is currently trading around $0.240, slightly down over the past day. It’s sitting just under that critical level, which makes the next move important.

Trading volume remains active at around $500 million in 24 hours, showing there’s still strong participation. The circulating supply stands above 36 billion $ADA, with a max supply of 45 billion.

However, zooming out reveals that $ADA is still far below its all-time high of $3.10, though it has seen a huge recovery from its early lows.

What the Charts Are Saying

The broader trend still leans downward. $ADA is trading below its 50-day and 200-day averages, and recent price action hasn’t managed to break back above them.

Short-term charts show weakness too, with multiple moving averages crossing downward. Indicators like RSI sit in neutral territory, while MACD is slightly below zero, showing there’s still some selling pressure around.

At the same time, market activity hasn’t dried up, which means traders are still engaged at these levels.
