Bitcoin ETFs drew $996.38 million between April 13–17, led by Blackrock’s IBIT with $906.1 million in inflows.

Ether ETFs added $275.83 million, extending a 7-day streak, showing stronger and steadier demand.

XRP gained $55.39 million and Solana $35.17 million, signaling broader ETF participation across ETFs.

Momentum returned quietly, but it did not stay that way. By the end of the week, crypto ETFs had delivered one of their strongest collective performances in recent months, with capital flowing steadily back into the sector and conviction building across multiple assets.

Bitcoin spot ETFs led the charge, recording $996.38 million in net inflows and marking a third consecutive week of gains. The headline number, however, masked a volatile start. Monday opened with a sharp $291 million outflow, driven largely by heavy redemptions from Fidelity’s FBTC and Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB.
That weakness proved temporary. From Tuesday onward, flows turned decisively positive, culminating in a $663.91 million surge on Friday that pushed total net assets back above $100 billion. Blackrock’s IBIT dominated the week, attracting $906.1 million and acting as the primary engine of demand. Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB rebounded strongly to finish with $98.5 million in inflows, while Bitwise’s BITB added $54.1 million.Morgan Stanley’s MSBT emerged as a notable new force. The fund extended its inflow streak to eight consecutive days, accumulating $71.1 million for the week and $133 million since launch, with an average daily inflow of $16.6 million. Its competitive 14 basis point fee structure is already raising questions about how incumbents may respond.

Before its recent rebound, the downturn in Bitcoin’s price was attributed to several factors that significantly hampered its performance. However, one of these factors stood out the most during the downtrend, and that was heightened selling pressure in the market.

During the Bitcoin downside performance, speculations about the factors fueling this negative move swell across the community. However, CW, a market expert and verified author at the CryptoQuant platform, has shed light on the matter, attributing it to waning investors’ sentiment in the market.

In the report shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), CW highlighted that the recent decline in Bitcoin was largely led by the Futures Market, which is hovering in negative territory. Increased short positions, changes in financing rates, and elevated leverage all suggest that derivatives traders are mostly responsible for determining the direction of prices.

According to the expert, the net selling volume in the spot market was approximately half of what was recorded in buying volume. However, a massive wave of selling pressure unfolded in the futures market, causing BTC to return to its previous price. This imbalance caused the bulls to experience a difficult environment as a result of every attempt at recovery being met with increased sell-side intensity.

Bitcoin’s large investors and whales have also been caught up in this imbalance. These key investors continue to hold on to their spot BTC and liquidating high-leverage long bets due to the drop in the futures market. In addition to holding their spot BTC, the cohort is absorbing volume from retail investors who are steadily selling their positions out of fear.

At the same time, the Aroon Up indicator surged to 100 while the Aroon Down remained subdued near 50, a setup often associated with strengthening bullish trends and sustained buying pressure.

Hence, if buyers maintain control above the $82,000 breakout zone, analysts expect Bitcoin could soon attempt a move toward the $84,000–$85,000 range in the coming sessions. However, failure to hold above $81,000 could see the asset retest support near $80,000 before another breakout attempt.

BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, accumulated over $1 billion worth of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum ($ETH) through its spot ETFs in the first few trading days of May 2026.

Most inflows came via the iShares Bitcoin Trust, which drew $871.3 million across May 1, 4, and 5. The strongest day was May 4, with $335.5 million in inflows, one of the biggest single-day totals this year for any spot Bitcoin ETF.

On May 5, IBIT added another $251.4 million, while Grayscale Bitcoin Trust saw $18.4 million in outflows, underscoring BlackRock’s dominance. Earlier, on May 1, IBIT pulled in $284.4 million, setting the tone for sustained inflows.

South Korea’s Upbit has added Dogwifhat to its spot markets, giving the Solana-based memecoin access to Korean won, Bitcoin, and $USDT trading pairs.

The exchange notice, published on May 6, said $WIF trading support would cover KRW, BTC, and $USDT markets. The listing gives Dogwifhat wider access to one of Asia’s most active retail crypto markets.

Upbit said Dogwifhat deposits and withdrawals would use the Solana network only. Users were asked to check the network and token contract before sending funds.

The notice listed the supported $WIF contract as EKpQGSJtjMFqKZ9KQanSqYXRcF8fBopzLHYxdM65zcjm. Upbit also said unsupported deposits may need a refund process, which could take time.

The exchange added normal early-trading controls. Buy orders were restricted for about five minutes after trading began. Upbit also limited some sell orders and restricted order types for about two hours.

These controls are common around new listings. They aim to reduce unstable order flow when liquidity is still forming.
