BitMine has accumulated more than 4% of the total ETH supply in under 12 months. This percentage was calculated since it began adding the second-largest crypto to its holdings.

In a keynote speech at the Consensus crypto conference in Miami, Lee admitted they had achieved this milestone unexpectedly quickly. Initially, they thought it would take five years.

BitMine seeks to remain competitive in the crypto industry 

BitMine purchases more than 100,000 ETH weekly. This acquisition is approximately $230 million. However, Lee hinted that the company might stop buying once holdings exceed 5.18 million ETH. 

“I believe we will reduce our buying speed. I’m not sure we want to reach 5% too quickly,” the Chairman asserted. Regarding BitMine’s goal, he argued that, “If we keep buying 100,000 ETH each week, we’ll hit that target in about six weeks.” 

Afterward, Lee noted that they are slowing the accumulation to focus on other crypto opportunities. He did not outline these opportunities but mentioned that his firm’s diverse activities were beneficial.

Other achievements BitMine accomplished include introducing the Made in America Validator Network (MAVAN) for Ethereum staking. It has also made investments in MrBeast’s Beast Industries and Eightco.

Lee commented, “In our opinion, the risk versus reward looks great for BitMine since we have many investments out there.”  “We’re involved in Ethereum, staking, several high-risk opportunities, and of course the stock,” he added.

But guidance is not law, and guidance can change the moment a new administration arrives.

“If you’re a big financial institution that’s had to deal with an SEC that has fined them billions of dollars, they don’t want to take a chance,” he said.

That institutional nervousness, Garlinghouse argued, is exactly why the CLARITY Act matters. Legislation creates permanence that guidance never can. Without it, major banks will remain cautious no matter how friendly today’s regulators appear.

Bitcoin is taking market share from gold as investors hedge against fiat currency debasement, JPMorgan analysts said in a research note this week.

Bitcoin exchange-traded funds have recorded inflows for three consecutive months through May, while gold ETFs are still struggling to recover the outflows that followed the March Iran conflict, according to The Block.

As Cryptopolitan reported in March, the divergence began with Bitcoin gaining 11% during the early period of the Iran conflict, while gold fell about 5% and the S&P 500 dropped nearly 3%.

The May update extends that pattern. Gold’s failure to recover its February-March outflows is what’s making the structural shift visible.

The company also defended its lawsuit against Tron founder Justin Sun amid their escalating feud.

Donald Trump Jr. addressed rumors Thursday that he and his family have quietly exited World Liberty Financial, insisting he and his siblings remain part of the crypto firm as it ramps up a high-profile legal skirmish.

“I think I saw on Twitter at one point that Don and Eric had abandoned the project,” Zach Witkoff, another World Liberty co-founder, said during a Thursday afternoon appearance at Consensus, a Miami crypto conference.

“It was news to me too,” Trump Jr. chimed in, chalking the rumors up to misinformation spread online after World Liberty took a list of company co-founders, including President Donald Trump and his three sons, off the company website.

“You get enough people who blindly follow what someone’s feeding them, you get bots pushing it… I don’t think I’d be on this stage here if that was the case,” Trump Jr. continued.

As far as I’m aware, Don and Eric are still very much co-founders of the project,” Witkoff added.

The co-founders were prompted to respond to the rumors by the panel’s moderator, David Wachsman—an independent crypto PR executive who runs public relations for the Trump family’s crypto firm.

During the panel, Wachsman also asked Trump Jr. and Witkoff to address a lawsuit filed this week by World Liberty against crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun. Sun, the founder of the Tron network and one of World Liberty’s top financial backers, sued the company last month, alleging rampant misconduct by its leadership.
