Bitcoin News: Spot Bitcoin ETFs Lose $1 Billion in a Week, Ending Six-Week Inflow Streak as Inflation Fears and AI Rotation Take Hold

Spot Bitcoin ETFs shed $1 billion in net outflows last week, snapping a six-week inflow streak that had attracted a combined $3.4 billion and marking one of the sharpest weekly reversals in fund flows since the products launched. The turnaround reflects a deteriorating macro backdrop — hot inflation data, surging bond yields, and rapidly repriced Federal Reserve expectations — that overwhelmed the positive momentum built through April and early May.

The week opened with modest optimism. Monday posted $27.29 million in net inflows, suggesting the prior week's macro concerns had not yet translated into sustained institutional selling. That changed sharply on Tuesday, when $233.25 million exited the funds — the first significant outflow of the week and a sign that the inflation narrative was beginning to bite.

Wednesday was the worst single session, with $635.23 million in outflows representing one of the largest single-day redemptions the Bitcoin ETF complex has seen. Thursday offered a brief reprieve, with $131.31 million in inflows providing a momentary reversal. But Friday erased that recovery entirely, with a further $290.42 million in outflows sealing the week at exactly $1 billion in net redemptions.

The daily flow pattern mirrors the macro news cycle precisely. Wednesday's record single-day outflows coincided with the PPI reading that showed producer prices rising at their highest annual rate since 2022. Friday's selling followed the global bond market rout that pushed US 10-year Treasury yields above 4.5% and triggered Bitcoin's slide to near $78,000.

The $1 billion weekly outflow lands in stark contrast to what preceded it.

Following a broader cryptocurrency market bounce on Thursday, Cardano (ADA) has flipped into an upward direction again, breaking past the $0.25 barrier. While the ADA’s price has turned positive, the altcoin’s current structure and on-chain signals are starting to align, raising its potential for a major rally.

Improving Cardano Investor Outlook Collides With Bullish Momentum
Several optimistic predictions from analysts are starting to show up for Cardano as its price makes a bounce back above key resistance levels. A seasoned market expert and trader, Ali Martinez, has outlined a highly bullish outlook for ADA, in which the altcoin could continue its upward trajectory.

In the post shared on the X platform, Ali Martinez has predicted that Cardano’s price could be getting ready to kickstart a new bull rally, suggesting that the current sideways performance will come to an end. Numerous indications are starting to suggest that confidence in the altcoin’s prospects is growing after a period of consolidation and muted price movement.

Martinez’s forecast is mainly backed by the SuperTrend Indicator, which appears to have been a reliable tool for predicting ADA’s shifts in the long term. The indicator has been on the analyst’s radar since it flashed a sell signal on September 25, 2025, that perfectly identified the start of a 73% price decline.

Following months of this heavy correction, the key indicator has just flipped on the daily chart. This flip simply means that the indicator is signaling a buy signal once again. In the expert’s view, this shift points to the conclusion of a local exhaustion phase and a trend reversal finally taking place.

Ethereum is testing a key support area on both its USD and Bitcoin charts, with traders watching whether buyers can defend the current range. $ETH sits near the bottom of a descending 4-hour channel, while the $ETH/$BTC ratio holds close to a major weekly Fibonacci level.Ethereum returned to the lower boundary of a descending 4-hour channel, putting the $2,180 to $2,230 area in focus as traders watch for a possible rebound.

The chart shared by Ali Charts on X shows $ETH trading near $2,191 after a sharp move lower inside the channel. The price now sits close to the lower trendline, which has acted as support during earlier pullbacks.

$ETH has traded inside a downward-sloping channel since late April, according to the chart. The structure shows lower highs and lower lows, which means sellers have controlled the broader 4-hour trend.

The latest move pushed Ethereum toward the channel bottom near $2,180. This area now acts as the nearest support zone. If buyers defend it, $ETH could move toward the mid-range at $2,280.

Ali Charts said he is watching for a spike in buying pressure at the bottom of the channel. He said that reaction could send $ETH toward $2,280 or even the top of the channel near $2,390.

The $2,330 level also stands as an important resistance zone before the upper boundary. $ETH previously struggled near that area, so it could limit a short-term recovery.

For now, Ethereum remains inside the descending channel. Support sits near $2,180, while resistance levels appear near $2,280, $2,330, and $2,390. A break below the lower trendline would weaken the setup and shift focus to a deeper downside move.

Meanwhile, Ethereum’s ratio against Bitcoin is holding near a key weekly support area, keeping a possible $ETH outperformance setup in focus.

Bitcoin drops to $78,000 as rate hike fears trigger massive $550M long flush

A major liquidation event targeting long orders flushed massive leverage across the digital asset market overnight, forcing Bitcoin down near the $78,000 mark. The world’s leading crypto was trading at $78,030.1 as of 05:51 ET (09:51 GMT).

The sharp downturn tracked a broader global bond selloff and the worst single-session performance for U.S. equities since March, catching heavily leveraged bullish traders off guard.

Bitcoin (BTC) fell roughly 3.2% over a 24-hour window according to Investing.com data, settling near $78,000 during Asian morning hours on Saturday. The drop effectively erased all market gains from the preceding seven days, during which the asset briefly traded above $82,000. 

Data compiled by CoinGlass revealed that $581 million in digital asset positions were liquidated within 24 hours, with an overwhelming 95%, approximately $552 million, wiped from leveraged long bets. 

Bitcoin led the individual losses with $189 million in liquidations, followed by Ether (ETH) at $151 million, while the single largest automated liquidation order occurred on the Bitget exchange via a $21.59 million BTCUSDT position.

The synchronized selloff developed as traditional global macro markets reacted to back-to-back elevated Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Producer Price Index (PPI) prints earlier in the week.

Combined with elevated crude oil prices exceeding $105 per barrel due to the ongoing Iran conflict and shipping restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz, the sticky inflation data forced bond and equity traders to adjust expectations away from Federal Reserve rate cuts toward potential rate hikes. 

The broader financial shift pushed U.S. 10-year Treasury yields past 4.5%.
