Former Huawei 'Genius Teen' Who Questioned DeepSeek Interview Lands in 'Crossfire' from Web3 Investor

Former Huawei "Genius Youth" Li Bojie recently drew public attention by criticizing his interview experience with DeepSeek. The controversy escalated when Du Jun, co-founder of Web3 investment firm ABCDE Capital, publicly accused Li of being "the founder with the least sense of contractual spirit" he had ever cooperated with, sparking a dispute over Li's startup project, Metagent. Li detailed a frustrating DeepSeek interview where he was accused of potential plagiarism, leading him to end the session. The spotlight then shifted to his venture, Metagent, a Web3+AI project aiming to tokenize AI agents. ABCDE invested $1.5 million, with an initial $500k disbursed. Du Jun claimed the project's progress was severely lacking, with a poor-quality demo and minimal social media activity. He alleged Li stopped communicating, deleted his Telegram, and failed to provide proper financial reporting. In response, Li argued the remaining $1 million was never received, crippling operations and forcing salary cuts. He stated he left Metagent in October 2024 due to family reasons and Web3 compliance concerns, with board approval. He claimed to have fulfilled disclosure duties and that his subsequent projects avoided conflicting fields. Other investors, including ArkStream Capital, shared negative due diligence experiences, citing unprofessional contracts and evasive answers on tokenomics. Metagent's social media went silent in June 2024, effectively stalling. Li has since moved to a new consumer AI agent platform, Pine AI (formerly Logenic AI), which has raised $25 million in Series A funding. He served as its Chief Scientist but recently left, clarifying he was not the founder and departed due to a shift in research interests.

Female Crypto Mogul Survived Mining Crackdown and Market Plunge, but Paid a $60 Million Tuition to a U.S.-Style 'Pig-Butchering' Scam

An 80s-born Chinese entrepreneur, Fiona Lyu (also known as Lv Yongshuang), CEO of the mining firm Chengdu Valarhash Technology, was defrauded of over $9.4 million (approx. RMB 60 million) in the US, according to a Caixin report. Lyu's company once operated the 1THash and Bytepool mining pools, which collectively controlled about 9% of the global Bitcoin hash rate at their peak in early 2020. The scam began in 2021 after China's crackdown on crypto mining forced Lyu to seek overseas relocation for her operations. She was introduced to Zubair Al Zubair, who posed as an "UAE royal family member" with connections to Middle Eastern capital and US local government resources. He and his brother, who impersonated a hedge fund manager, orchestrated a fake contract signing for a mining facility in Ohio, witnessed by local officials. Lyu transferred millions in contract payments. The brothers, both US citizens with fabricated backgrounds, later fraudulently sold 1,067 of her miners for $6.17 million. The scheme involved bribing a mayor's chief of staff for legitimacy. In May 2026, US courts sentenced Zubair to 24 years in prison, his brother to 23 years, and the official to 8 years. Simultaneously, Lyu faced a separate legal battle in China. A subsidiary of listed company ST Zhongchang sued her firm, seeking refunds for a 2021 contract involving Bitcoin mining equipment. Chinese courts ruled the mining contract invalid and ordered a refund of nearly RMB 19.3 million. This dual blow marked a stark downturn for the once-prominent figure in the crypto mining industry.

For Web3, This Time Cai Wensheng Is Determined to Get His Hands Dirty

Cai Wenshou, a prominent Chinese internet entrepreneur and investor, is making a significant push into the Web3 space with a hands-on approach, moving beyond his previous role as a financial backer. Despite early successes in domains and internet companies like Meitu, his advocacy for Meitu's $100 million cryptocurrency investment in 2021 led to substantial paper losses and public criticism, eventually resulting in his departure as chairman. After stepping down, he reduced his stake in Meitu and invested personal funds into Web3 initiatives. He purchased a 25-story commercial building in Hong Kong, renamed it "CAI Tower" (representing Crypto and AI), offering free rent to Web3 and AI startups in exchange for first investment rights. He also acquired two Hong Kong-listed companies, rebranding them as CAI Holdings and LONG Investment Group, to build a Web3 and AI asset management platform. Additionally, he integrated a licensed virtual asset exchange, EXIO, into his ecosystem, creating a full-cycle support system from incubation to trading. Cai believes in the long-term potential of Web3, comparing its growth trajectory to AI's gradual rise. He remains optimistic about Bitcoin's future, predicting it could reach $1.1 million. Unlike some early crypto figures who have exited the industry, Cai is deepening his involvement, aiming to foster tangible projects and ecosystems. His commitment reflects a broader need for established leaders to drive real-world adoption and achieve a credible, impactful victory for the crypto space.

The One-Person Company: The Path to Million-Dollar Revenue

Nat Eliason, a writer and entrepreneur, is building a one-person company named Felix with the goal of generating $1 million in revenue using AI agents as his sole employees. Leveraging the OpenClaw framework, Felix has rapidly progressed, achieving nearly $200,000 in revenue in just a few weeks. The venture began when a post about OpenClaw went viral, leading to the creation of a $Felix token. Eliason tasked his AI agent, the "CEO" of this zero-human company, with generating revenue. Felix started by autonomously building a website and selling a $29 OpenClaw setup guide, generating $41,000. It then identified market needs and expanded into two main businesses: Claw Mart, a marketplace for AI skills (generating ~$14,000), and Clawcommerce, a service building custom AI agents for enterprises. The system uses sub-agents for tasks like support and sales, with Discord as its operational hub. Operating costs are minimal at ~$1,500 monthly. A key development is Felix beginning to "hire" a human for affiliate distribution, signaling a shift from replacing humans to employing them. Challenges include AI unpredictability, memory management, and market education. Despite this, Eliason is optimistic. Future plans include optimizing existing services, exploring blockchain integration, and scaling further. He believes this model represents a new era of AI-driven commercialization and a significant wealth creation opportunity.
