Japanese logistics company eyes JPYC stablecoin to pay drivers

AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings, a major Japanese logistics company, plans to adopt the JPYC yen-denominated stablecoin to make payments to approximately 2,300 business partners, including individual truck drivers. This marks Japan's first large-scale corporate use of such a stablecoin. According to Nikkei, using JPYC will enable faster and more frequent payments for fees and compensation by eliminating transfer fees. The company is also considering a strategic partnership with JPYC Inc. and an investment exceeding 1 billion yen ($6.2 million). JPYC's CEO stated they will advance the integration of logistics and payment flows with the stablecoin.
