The leading cryptocurrency could grow to $300,000 or even $400,000 within four years, Armstrong suggested in an interview with Fox Business. The speaker envisioned that Bitcoin would find it easier to compete for capital with gold and other stores of value.
However, to reach $300,000, Bitcoin would need to grow approximately 317%, and to $400,000 — approximately 456%. This implies a significant increase in Bitcoin's market capitalization — currently standing at $1.5 trillion, noted the head of the largest U.S. cryptocurrency exchange.
Armstrong is convinced that Bitcoin's prolonged decline is linked to the stalled review of the U.S. digital asset regulation bill, CLARITY. The crypto exchange's top manager hopes that in the upcoming Senate vote on September 15th, Republicans and Democrats will find a compromise and the bill will receive the necessary more than 60 votes.
The Coinbase CEO is convinced that most banks understand that CLARITY would not pose a threat to them but would instead allow them to freely compete with crypto companies. Bankers feared that, with the ability to earn high rewards for holding stablecoins, clients would massively close their savings accounts and buy tokens. This became one of the reasons why the CLARITY review stalled.

Armstrong's comments came after a recent meeting at the White House where President Donald Trump met with participants from the crypto industry, including Gemini exchange founders the Winklevoss twins and Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghaus. Attendees of the event included the Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Paul Atkins and the Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Michael Selig. During the meeting, Trump urged Congress to pass CLARITY as soon as possible.
In January, the Coinbase CEO suggested that Bitcoin could reach $1 million within four years — thanks to growing investments from large investors in cryptocurrency.
