The founder of SkyBridge noted that the scale of the price decline was significantly smaller than during previous downturns.
"In 37 years of work, I have experienced nine bear markets. Bitcoin is clearly in a bear cycle now, but it has only dropped by 55%. This is a good sign: the limited drawdown may indicate sustained demand capable of supporting the next bull phase," Scaramucci stated during a CNBC broadcast.
Scaramucci pointed out that since the beginning of the U.S.-Iran war in February, the Bitcoin price has hardly changed. Among the reasons for the weak dynamics, the entrepreneur cited capital outflows from cryptocurrencies into artificial intelligence services, as well as mining companies' desire to invest in services for AI needs.
The founder of the investment company also drew attention to changes in the market structure. The launch of spot Bitcoin ETFs has expanded access to the leading cryptocurrency for traditional investors, and financial companies continue to create products based on digital assets. Thanks to this, Bitcoin now has a broader buyer base than during previous bearish pauses in the cycle, the businessman believes.
According to Scaramucci, the upcoming Bitcoin halving will reduce the rate of new coin issuance and increase supply scarcity, which could help Bitcoin gradually rise above $100,000. However, before recovery, the crypto market must go through a period of consolidation, the interviewee added in his conversation with the journalists.
Earlier, Anthony Scaramucci in an interview with RiskReversal Media compared the spread of Bitcoin to an S-shaped curve. According to the crypto-entrepreneur, after a slow initial stage, the rate of the asset's global adoption should sharply accelerate.
