This chain would continue to operate independently, but block times might be very slow, with miners essentially working for free, consuming energy meaninglessly. The most plausible outcome in this situation is that the BIP-110 chain permanently forks into an independent chain under the supporters, "manually" adjusts the block difficulty, and launches a new network token.
