Запущенный предпринимателем ресурс 21million.com имитирует первую в истории цифрового золота страницу CAPTCHA, созданную биткоин-новатором Гэвином Андресеном еще в 2010 году.

Его пользователи решали задачи по выявлению ботов.

На 21million.com отображается скриншот CAPTCHA и поле для ввода адреса получателя монет, которое на момент написания не функционирует.

На ресурсе также указано, что доступно 0 BTC.

Посетители веб-сайта могут узнать о первой криптовалюте и способах ее получения. Согласно Шрему, на 21million.com «нет подводных камней».

«Я хочу, чтобы биткоин был успешным, поэтому я создал этот небольшой сервис, чтобы дать вам несколько монет для начала», — пояснил он.

Предприниматель добавил, что ресурс запущен благодаря промптам ИИ.

Биткоин-краны способствовали принятию первой криптовалюты на заре ее становления.

На веб-сайте Андресена пользователи получили 19 700 BTC стоимостью $1,86 млрд по текущим ценам. Посетители могли зарабатывать до 5 BTC в день.

Биткоин-кран поощрял создание кошельков и совершение транзакций, что способствовало расширению аудитории и росту ончейн-активности цифрового золота.

Альтернативы вроде FreeBitco.in начали предлагать аналогичные услуги в период с 2011 по 2013 год.

По мере роста цены биткоина и увеличения комиссии за транзакции вознаграждение сокращалось, что привело к неустойчивости модели.

В настоящее время Шрем управляет криптовенчурным фондом Druid с AUM в $13 млн. Он также ведет подкаст The Charlie Shrem Show, гостями которого становились ключевые участники индустрии.
