Sui Dollar Launches With Yield Flowing Back to the Network

The Sui blockchain launched its native stablecoin, the Sui Dollar (USDsui), on Wednesday with a structure designed to return yield from backing assets to the ecosystem rather than retain it with the issuer. The coin is issued by Bridge, a stablecoin firm acquired by payments giant Stripe last year, and represents Sui's bid to differentiate itself in a stablecoin market dominated by Tether and Circle.

Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder at Mysten Labs, the original contributors to Sui, said income generated by the bonds and liquid assets backing USDsui will be deployed in two ways: repurchasing and removing $SUI tokens from circulation, and funding decentralized finance protocols and automated market making to incentivize on-chain activity. The global stablecoin market currently holds a combined market cap of around $310 billion, with Tether and Circle keeping all yield from the Treasury bonds backing USDT and USDC, respectively.

По данным CoinDesk, в четверг ведущая криптовалюта торговалась около 72 500 долларов. В среду американские спотовые ETF привлекли еще 155 миллионов долларов чистого притока капитала, продлив недавнюю волну институциональных покупок, которая помогла поднять цены после нескольких недель вялой активности.

Новый приток капитала доводит общий объем инвестиций до примерно 1,47 миллиарда долларов за последние две недели, согласно данным, собранным SoSoValue, что знаменует собой резкий разворот после нескольких недель оттока капитала в начале этого года.

Институциональный спрос через ETF начал стабилизироваться после сложного начала года.
