Ripple Engineering Head Reveals What’s Coming Next for XRP Ledger
Ayo Akinyele, Head of Engineering at RippleX, recently explained what Ripple is now focusing on as it continues expanding the XRP Ledger (XRPL). 

He shared this during the latest episode of RippleX’s Onchain Economy, where he discussed how blockchain is changing financial infrastructure and what comes next for the XRPL ecosystem.

Akinyele said traditional finance is gradually being rebuilt with blockchain technology. He believes the on-chain economy creates new opportunities by changing how value is defined and transferred. 

Notably, he confirmed that, as Head of Engineering at RippleX, his team focuses on building the features that allow financial institutions to develop their solutions directly on-chain.

Bitcoin Mining Giant Foundry Asks Miners To Vote on BIP-110 Soft Fork

Foundry Digital said it will allow clients who use its Bitcoin mining pool to vote on BIP-110.
Foundry Digital, the world’s leading Bitcoin mining pool operator, has said it will allow mining clients how the pool should signal on the BIP-110.

The Rochester, New York-based firm said Friday in an email to miners that they will be able to vote by using their hashrate — literally computing power — to vote either for or against the proposal. 

BIP-110, or the Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 110, is a proposal aimed at temporarily restricting spam on the blockchain. If it goes through, a soft fork — a backward-compatible rule change — would take effect, restricting the amount of non-monetary data on the network.

“As miners, it’s important for you to have a voice and participate in the governance of the network,” Foundry said in its announcement. 

“It’s one of the more actively debated proposals in Bitcoin right now, and miners play a direct role in whether it activates,” the company added. 

Also known as the “reduced data temporary soft fork,” the proposal would cap the amount of arbitrary, non-monetary data that transactions can carry. 

Its rules limit most new outputs to 34 bytes, restore an 83-byte limit on OP_RETURN outputs, and reject data pushes above 256 bytes. 

Those for the proposal say that the soft fork would allow Bitcoin to function as pure peer-to-peer money. 

But opponents, including Strategy founder Michael Saylor and Blockstream co-founder Adam Back, argue it converts a policy dispute into a consensus change that could invalidate fee-paying transactions.

Fenics Market Data, OpenYield and Tradeweb will now provide pricing through Pyth Pro and the Pyth Data Marketplace. Together, they cover dealer quotes, U.S. Treasuries, corporate bonds, municipal bonds and benchmark prices used by large financial institutions.

About the same, Mike Cahill, CEO of Douro Labs and Contributor to Pyth Network, said,

Fixed income pricing underpins global financial markets.

He added,

Making it available through the same infrastructure that already distributes equities, futures... is a structural step toward a unified, modern market data standard.

The effect can be immense. Bond pricing is often spread across dealers, private transactions, and separate trading venues. By bringing these sources into one network, Pyth is making fixed-income data easier for developers and financial applications to access alongside other major asset classes.

The Asia push for high-demand market data
That same strategy is also playing out in Asia. A recent South Korean market sell-off reportedly pushed more than 1.2 million leveraged accounts toward margin calls. The recent South Korean market sell-off highlights the value of timely regional market data, an area where Pyth has continued expanding its coverage.

Interestingly, Pyth has already expanded its coverage across Asia, including major Hong Kong stocks and a dedicated Seoul price feed for SK Hynix. Through Pyth Pro and its Data Marketplace, this coverage can be packaged into paid products for trading firms and financial apps.
