Samsung Wallet is getting native stablecoins – and it could make one token the default for 800M users

Some crypto investors raised an eyebrow this week when Samsung, in its official Galaxy Unpacked recap, said updates to Wallet “will also support stablecoins” and described the plan as native stablecoin capability on a smartphone.

Samsung’s stablecoin roadmap opens a contest over which issuer and network could get the shortest path into Samsung Wallet.

Samsung offered no product specification beyond that sentence.

No issuer or token, blockchain, custody and redemption model, eligible markets, functions, or launch date are confirmed. Samsung introduced no new dedicated crypto wallet at Unpacked. Also, the Wallet product and some crypto connections already existed.

So why are people getting so excited? Product mechanics will decide the scale of the distribution effect. A native flow for holding, sending, receiving, or paying could make Samsung Wallet a meaningful distribution surface for the selected stablecoin and rails.

A funding link, account view, or limited partner integration would extend Samsung’s existing crypto access with a smaller effect on stablecoin payments. Samsung has announced neither version.

Samsung Wallet was already a hub for payments, keys, IDs, boarding passes, and crypto-related functions before the new 2026 roadmap was released.

In July 2025, Samsung announced that Samsung Pay would begin rolling out inside Coinbase as a payment and deposit option in the United States and Canada. Coinbase published a matching announcement on the same date.

That earlier integration connected a familiar Samsung payment method to a separate crypto platform.

The stablecoin roadmap could take Samsung further into the transaction flow, although the Unpacked recap gives no basis for saying that it will. A balance held with a partner, a way to access provider-managed assets, and a

BitMart shuts down trading as BMX crashes more than 60%
BitMart has started a phased shutdown of its global cryptocurrency exchange after reviewing its operating conditions, market environment, and future strategy.

According to the official shutdown notice, the exchange stopped new registrations, cryptocurrency and fiat deposits, and new spot orders from 01:30 UTC on July 26. Futures accounts entered reduce-only mode, while copy trading, grid trading, API trading, and other automated services began winding down.

The exchange will end all spot, futures, and other trading services at 01:00 UTC on August 26. However, the full platform will not close on that date. BitMart plans to terminate trading-platform operations at 15:59 UTC on January 31, 2027. Users will retain limited account access for a period after that date to review records and submit withdrawals.

Short liquidations, meanwhile, totaled $127,430. The imbalance suggests that leveraged traders betting on further XRP gains have absorbed most of the recent losses.

The pressure was also visible over a shorter timeframe. During the past 12 hours, total liquidations reached $257,760, including $169,790 in long positions and $87,970 in shorts. The liquidation figures come as XRP's broader market activity weakens. The token is down 0.26% over the past 24 hours, while its market capitalization has declined 0.15% to approximately $68.2 billion. Trading volume has fallen 26.59% to $785.29 million, suggesting reduced activity across the market.

XRP currently has a total supply of approximately 99.98 billion tokens, with a maximum supply of 100 billion. About 62.53 billion XRP are in circulation, while the cryptocurrency has approximately 544,970 holders.

Bitcoin’s second rejection from $67,000 has increased short-term downside risk as its weekly stochastic RSI signals a potentially prolonged bottoming phase. Failure to reclaim resistance could expose $62,000, $60,000 and $58,000, while the projected $45,000-$55,000 cycle-low zone remains speculative.

Bitcoin’s Oversold Signal Points to a Longer Bottoming Process

Bitcoin’s weekly stochastic RSI has entered oversold territory, but the signal may not mark an immediate market bottom. More Crypto Online said previous cycles remained oversold for several months before Bitcoin established its final bear-market low.

The chart compares Bitcoin’s current structure with the 2017-2018 and 2021-2022 market cycles. In both cases, the stochastic RSI dropped into its lower range while price continued declining or consolidating before reaching a broader cycle bottom.

The analyst’s projection suggests the current bottoming phase could extend into late 2026. The chart places a possible low around the $45,000-$55,000 region, although the exact level and timing remain speculative.

Previous cycles took roughly 12 months to move from the major peak into the final low. Applying the same pattern to the latest cycle supports the possibility of continued volatility and further downside before a sustained recovery begins.

However, an oversold stochastic RSI does not guarantee that Bitcoin must fall further. The indicator measures momentum rather than fair value, and it can remain depressed while price consolidates or begins recovering.

For now, the setup points to a prolonged bottoming process rather than a confirmed reversal. Bitcoin would need to hold major support and establish a clear sequence of higher highs and higher lows before the longer-term outlook improves.
