Ethereum Builder Says CLARITY ACT Rumors May Be Potential Catalyst For Next Crypto Market Dump

The next cryptocurrency market dump could be spearheaded by a myriad of factors across the crypto market as well as the broader global finance market. While it remains unknown what the exact catalyst could be, Crypto market players are already outlining their predictions in an attempt to inform fellow market participants. 

In a recent post shared to X, formerly Twitter, a prominent Ethereum builder pointed to the widely discussed and highly anticipated CLARITY ACT as a potential driver of the crypto market’s next dip. 

Econar, a long-time Ethereum builder and crypto personality, took to X to share that a weak price rally—a fake out—may be witnessed as rumors of CLARITY ACT potentially being passed intensify.  

“Crypto is going to do that thing where we barely pump on rumor of something good happening (CLARITY), and then when it doesn’t happen, despite the pass not even being properly priced in, we will dump lower than we would have dumped if nothing ever happened.”

Econar’s position speaks to the market trend of “buying the rumour and selling the news,” a pattern in the crypto community often led by increased market hype on a specific product, event or potential development, with no concrete evidence in sight. 

In such cases, market players have historically responded to delays and weaker-than-expected performances with profit-taking and disappointment, often resulting in a sell-off. 

The industry players’ concerns come as conversations centering the CLARITY ACT skyrocket within Crypto spaces, as a series of events suggests that the bill could be well on its way to becoming law.  

Not long after the Senate Banking Committee advanced the bill on May 14th, House Financial Services held a field hearing in New York City on how CLARITY unlocks innovation on July 17th.

BitMart to Shut Down Crypto Exchange After Nine Years as BMX Token Drops 58%

BitMart will shut down its crypto exchange services after nine years, ending trading services on August 26, 2026, before full closure in January 2027. The announcement triggered a sharp BMX token decline as users moved to close positions and withdraw assets.
Crypto exchange BitMart will close its trading platform after nine years of operation. The company will stop all trading on August 26, 2026, before ending platform operations on January 31, 2027.

BitMart announced the wind-down on Sunday after reviewing its business conditions, market environment, and plans. It did not name a specific financial, legal, or security issue behind the decision.

The exchange stopped new registrations, deposits, and new trading orders at 01:30 UTC on July 26. Futures accounts also moved into reduce-only mode, which allows users to close positions but blocks new ones.

BitMart said that all spot, futures, and other trading services will end at 01:00 UTC on August 26. Open futures positions may be settled by the platform if users do not close them before the deadline.

The company also advised users to complete identity checks, cancel open orders, and submit withdrawal requests before 05:00 UTC on August 26. Accounts will remain accessible after trading ends, but later withdrawals may follow a separate review process.

“After a careful evaluation of the Company’s operating conditions, market environment, and future strategic direction, BitMart has made the difficult decision to commence an orderly wind-down,” the exchange said.

BitMart added that Earn, staking, lending, Launchpad, copy trading, grid trading, and automated services will close in stages. Separate notices will explain redemption dates for affected products.

BitMine has accumulated over 5.77 million $ETH coins, which are now valued at over $11 billion. This means that the company needs to buy 222,532 Ethereum coins, currently worth over $422 million. If the trend continues, it will hit its 6 million target in the coming months.Completing the purchases will benefit BitMine’s shareholders in two main ways. First, it will likely conclude the dilution that has pushed its outstanding shares to 603 million from less than 239 million last year.

Second, the company will now transition from being a highly dilutive firm into a cash generator. It will achieve that through staking its Ethereum holdings, which will generate about 3% annual return. The estimated annual return will be about 180,000 coins, which are now valued at over $342 million.

Estimates by two analysts are that BitMine’s annual revenue will jump to $125 million this year. They also expect that the revenue will jump to $429 million next year.For example, SharpLink ), a similar company, has already generated 23,918 $ETH tokens in revenue since it started staking its tokens.

BitMine Has Become Highly Undervalued
Meanwhile, there are signs that the company is highly undervalued. It has a market capitalization of $9.52 billion, much lower than its Ethereum holdings of $11 billion.

Most notably, unlike Strategy ), BitMine has no debt. Its only liability is from its preferred stock, which is expected to cost it almost $40 million a year.
